Accutek owner Ron has been there for over 40 years there on 30 and Taft as I was a kid in the early 80's going there with my Mom when we lived in North Merrillville to get everything from car stereo, to her broken cassette tapes even repaired. I started going there in the early 90's as I started driving and Accutek built new shop. I have had them install a new stereo or two , or broken antennas , custom speakers, car alarms etc, in every vehicle I ever owned since then, as back in the 90's my fancy Pioneer stereos were usually stolen because they were high end and car stereo thefts were still a highly popular crime back in the day and and I would come back to Ron each time with a hole in my dash where the radio he last installed used to be as back then I would never have my faceplate radio detached or have my pull out radio pulled out. Now days I come back for new car stereos with the latest features. Ron is the nicest, most honest, straight forward business man anywhere. His Knowledge of custom sound system installs, stereos, repair, vintage car electronics, to the latest smart car electronics is unmatched anywhere. Literally the only place I do business at where I never ask the total bill, I just tell him what I need and know I'm am getting the best service and price when I pay the bill. I have been to these guys several times since I was 22. I am now 37. Had them install a few stereos over the past years and even when doing installs myself, I went to these guys for quality amplifier wiring and even alarm key fobs (remotes). Ron is very helpful and normally very straightforward with assistance and very honest. Some people may chose to go to a big name retail store or online but when it comes to knowledge and real service, that's when a place like Accutek really shines. They even stock used equipment and replacement oem stereos sometimes. I recently purchased a 2000 Honda Civic in great condition and stopped by inquiring about a remote for old alarm. I spoke with Ron at Accutek and got some very valuable information about the alarm on the vehicle. I will be back soon to purchase the correct remote for the alarm. These guys are the best...

Dear god, i spent 2hrs at a ford Indiana dealership to get a new fab key. Thats the automatic clicker for you lammens out there. For some reason they made me a brand new key for my actual car. At the cost of $124, after re explaining the whole purpose of my Scheduled visit they get me a fab key. But then i notice there was no remote starter button for it, which was also the point of my visit. Long story short they cant help me but refunded my money as long as i agreed to take down my facebook post about them :). I just found a car radio store 2mins from my house. $90 and i should be on my way in about 30 mins with a fancy new fab key. If i had only started here, my day off could of been so...
