I preface by saying that this review is based on the culmination of multiple visits to this location. Today's trip was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back.
High prices? Check. Poor selection? Check. Inconvenient hours? Check. Bugs flying around inside the donut case? Check. Staff that generally seems like they hate their jobs, and don't want to be bothered with you? Check.
Today's trip reinforced that last point for me. I arrived at this Kuhn's location's front doors at 6:02 pm. I had to return a couple Redbox movies, and I planned on grabbing a few snacks for New Year's Eve. I found the doors locked, but an associate (maybe manager or supervisor) was standing in the lobby directing exiting customers to the appropriate door, as they had closed at 6. OK. So, no snacks for me. Not the end of the world. The Redbox, however, is in the outer lobby, so I assumed I could at least come in to quickly return my movies. I tapped on the door to get the associate's attention. Told him, through the door, that I just wanted to drop off my movies, and I'd be on my way. 1 minute, tops. (Mind you, there were still many customers in the store, at this point. It wasn't like I'd be the only one holding up his departure.) He would not let me in. They had closed 3 minutes ago, and I couldn't possibly use his outer lobby for a quick moment.
I get it. I work in retail, and when it's time to close, it's time to close. I also have sympathy, and have let many customers into my stores after closing, over the years, for quick, emergency purchases. It's called "having a heart". Had it been 6:15, or had all the customers cleared out, this would have been an entirely different situation. I would not have inconvenienced this man, at all, by coming in to return my movies.
I'm tired of people trying to convince me that Kuhn's is a viable option for grocery shopping, when so many better options are around. It's not. As far as I'm concerned, there are only two things that could improve this location: 1) close it, or 2) sell it to...
Read moreI've been shopping at Kuhn's for a few weeks, it's convenient to get my groceries and the only issue I had was the fact their produce was always in poor condition. I can't tell you how many times I bought produce just to go home and discover it was bad and had to throw it out. The other issue is how obnoxious their self check outs are, it's extremely frustrating to ring out just to be dinged at and yelled at by a machine because I removed a bag from the area. However both are completely minor and that's not why I'm writing this review.
Around 8:30 tonight, I had to make a quick stop to Kuhn's. Being I parked my car at Target and the weather was so beautiful I decided to walk to Kuhn's. I had multiple extremely HEAVY bags that I could not carry as there were too many so I was going to go to my car, put my groceries in the trunk and BRING THE CART BACK. Midway, a sales associate who was handling the carts started to yell at me and follow me saying I needed to return the cart to the store. I explained to him my situation and that I was going to bring it back, he insisted I take the bags out of the cart and use a cart from Burlington because they were closing...it was 8:45 by the time I returned the cart, it would've been back there by the time they closed. I argued with him and he was very rude and acting like I was going to take the cart home. I told him multiple times I was going to return it and my car was at the end of the parking lot. He went to get the cart from Burlington and I decided that I did not have the time to argue with this associate. So I took all of my bags out and carried them, one of the bags broke spilling out all of my stuff. This was completely unacceptable and I don't think I will be returning due to his rude behavior over a shopping cart. I get many people don't bring them back, however, I was and he was being all extra for nothing. Completely unprofessional to yell like that and stalk me halfway across the parking lot too, I felt targeted...
Read moreYou know, I’m really bummed I have to write this review. I never leave less than 5 stars. If I have a complaint I usually just send an email. But this situation is too irritating not to share publicly.
Having recently moved to the area, I was excited when I first found this market. Lots of interesting produces and a diverse range of options.
Today however, I noticed an end cap dedicated to Goya foods. Due to the recent political situation, it was a very clear statement in support of certain political ideologies.
Now, Im not all about boycotting products because some rich CEO has any opinions - I don’t have time for that. I am, however, extremely irritated by a local market who I am trying to support instead of larger chains, or instead of international markets, to try to get in my face with a political statement. I’m sure it panders to some demographic that is shopping at this store. However, it is extremely alienating and immature. I was feeling guilty when shopping at other places instead of local, I’m glad I can put those feelings to rest and I’m glad I have several other local options to...
