I have at here at えいわ twice now. My first venture was with my wife. I had Lanzhou beef, a very traditionally flavored Chinese noodle dish also known as Beef Ramen. It has several spice notes and aromatics like Black Cardamom, Clove, and Star Anise. My wife had Spicy Miso Ramen, a very whole bodied flavor with a little heat, it was a very comforting feeling dish. The second time we went; I had Hakata Tonkatsu Ramen. It was delicious, the pork belly (which looked and tasted like it was braided in a shoyu and Chinese based spice mix) was savory and fatty while the white broth was creamy and delightful. I was thrown off because they use Chinese Style noodles in this dish instead of Ramen Noodles. Even with that, it was still amazing. My wife and our partner had Shoyu Ramen. Which, if I had to recommend a dish there it would be that one. It has this amazing Shoyu braised chicken topping a savory and umami and salty broth. The ramen style noodles were chewy and not over cooked.

The thing that blew me away is that everything they serve, they make. They give you a traditional "Topping" tray that comes with Kimchi, Sweet and Sour White cabbage, and a sweet and savory bean sprouts and sesame topping that you can eat as is or with your bowls of ramen as an extra dynamic to the flavor profile. They also have some of the most delicious Brown Sugar Bubble tea I have ever had... Period.

The staff is kind the service is good, the food is hot and comes out quick. They plan on adding more dishes, as they serve more than just Japanese ramen, they have Donburi as well as some more well known Chinese American dishes. But I'm most excited for more Asian cuisine from across the continent and I want nothing more than for this place to succeed and continue to grow. Please, go eat there, talk, smile, laugh, and enjoy your food. Take your family, your friends, a random person on the street. I promise it won't be a...

This place is an absolute gem! The food? Amazing. Truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Pittsburgh so far.

The space inside is on the smaller, more compact side—definitely a cozy setup with limited seating—but it’s functional, clean, and decorated with classic Japanese touches that give it an authentic vibe. Parking was easy and the location is convenient.

Now let’s talk food—wow. I hadn’t had takoyaki in a while, so I ordered some, and it instantly brought me back. As an Asian, that distinct fishy aroma hit me in the best way possible—it was authentic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. My partner, who’s American, was surprised by the strong smell at first, but even he could tell it was the real deal.

We also had the Mongolian beef, which came with a generous amount of onions, but the sweetness and saltiness balanced beautifully with the tender beef and white rice. So savory—a definite highlight of the meal.

The tonkosu pork ramen was rich and flavorful, with a broth that felt like it had been simmered for hours. Pure comfort in a bowl. I also ordered a salmon avocado roll, which was good—fresh and clean—but it was a bit overshadowed by the bold flavors of the other dishes. Still a solid choice!

Now, a little downside: when I first sat down, I scratched my hand on a screw sticking out from one of the chairs near the back. I was too shy to say anything at the time because the host was so sweet and welcoming, but I do hope they check and update their seating. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable, especially for bigger bodies, and the back- to- back table setup means you might accidentally nudge your neighbor. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note.

Despite that, this place is absolutely worth visiting. The food was phenomenal, the staff was kind, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend it if you're craving ramen or just great Japanese food...

I had the Tonkotsu Ramen ($16.xx), and Tiramisu Boba tea on my first visit. This is now my favorite Ramen place in Pittsburgh. The Ramen was loaded and I felt no need to think about adding anything else to it. I was so thrilled. Totally recommend this place. Edit: Second visit, a few months later, and I don't know why this place isn't packed every time I come in. Had the Katsu Chicken Curry Ramen and Taro Boba Milk Tea. Everything was amazing, again. $16.99 for a loaded bowl of ramen. Did not feel I needed to add to the Ramen, even though I discovered a full page of add-ons available for the Ramen on request. The staff are friendly, and the place is immaculatey clean. Vintage Japanese disco/pop music, like I've heard on different YouTube DJ's channels was pumping the whole time. So much fun. I need to get a better job so I can come in here more often. Edit: Another visit. Got the Vegetarian Ramen. Absolutely delicious. Wasn't missing any meat or pork broth at all. I always have to come here hungry. Still the best Ramen in Pittsburgh. I don't know why this place is not packed out on a Sunday afternoon. Edit Edit: came back, after making it my goal to try all the ramen on the menu. This adventure was Miso Ramen with spring rolls appetizer, and my kryptonite (anything Tiramisu) Boba Bubble Tea. Again, never been disappointed here. Lots of different flavors from a loaded bowl, no need to add on from the...
