This is the best sandwich shop in Atlanta..Bold claim I know but there are some key factors in my decision. I’ve had 5 different sandwiches, one for every visit and I haven’t had a bad one yet. In fact I can’t name a favorite because they’ve all been great, I don’t know maybe the meatball. Every part of the sandwich stands alone even the bread. I’ve only had the classic hero roll and wrap. Both adding to the entire experience. My main concern is that they are going to franchise, not to be confused with opening a second location even a third but franchising where the end game is the bottom line and where the ingredients tend to be the first to take a hit. The hero’s I feel are a good value for the price. 14$-18$ per sandwich (I’m not looking at the menu) and 1 sandy will easily feed 2 persons with a normal appetite. The atmosphere here is super casual. One big community table and counter style seating harkens back to my sandwich shop days of my youth in the north east. Self service drink fridge and deli display cooler make for a great experience. This is the place I take friends and family when in town. And a favorite of my sons and me when he’s here from...
Read moreI'm not sure if I had the same meatball parm as everyone else, but I thought it was probably the worst meatball sub I've had. A couple of issues that I noted: 1. There was probably one whole meatball that was sliced into 3 on the sub. Looking at other photos I seen whole meatballs so not sure but either way. 2. I'm assuming its Ricotta cheese but it was overpowering and off putting. 3. Ummm where is the sauce? There was basically no marinara/tomato sauce on it. 4. The signs talk up the bread but I found nothing special about it and would say it is worse than normal sub bread. With all this said the service was good, the place was nice, and at least the waffle fries were good.
Also, the electronic menus up had no description of the product so I just read off the menu above. There were also no pictures of any food anywhere.
Also, it was $22 for a single combo so that...
Read moreGreat place for a hero. The chicken cutlets are thin and cooked well. You might need to ask for extra mayo.
The people I was with enjoyed their Philly steaks as well. The fresh mozzarella sandwich looked really good and the person eating it genuinely enjoyed it.
The bread was really good as well.
When I was there you had to order through a kiosk. I personally would have preferred to order from a person. I am sure that is an option but the place was busy and it appeared I would have slowed down the operation if I ordered with someone.
I would have liked a scoop out bread option on the kiosk or a special order option. It might be there and I could have missed it.
Either way if ever in the area again I will be back. Totally a solid hero. And they have boars...
