Lanzhou Ramen N Sushi (兰州拉面) — Restaurant in Alpharetta

TLDR: It was wonderful!☆☆☆☆☆ Full review: We have eaten at the Doraville location, and it was delicious... So we were very excited when this second location opened closer to home! We tried these menu items: ⁠✧Numb Spicy Crawfish: 10/10! Next time I will order it more spicy, but I think most people will love it the way it is. The flavors are awesome and I loved the cucumber that it's served with! I will definitely order this again. It's enough to share but could also be a large meal. These crawfish all tasted very fresh, the tails easily slid out from the shell, they were a great size. I wouldn't recommend ordering this if you don't understand how to peel and eat crawfish, but if you know how, you should go for it!! ✧Steamed Soup Dumplings: 10/10 DELICIOUS, just get it, we loved them so much lol ✧Steamed Pork Buns: 10/10 with great portions, fluffy texture and flavorful filling ✧Chicken Stir Fried Hand Pulled Noodles: They are great, such a comforting meal for a cold day... my husband could barely share because it was so tasty. Our 2 year old really loved it, it was an easy dinner for her! The noodles are very long, so make sure to cut them up for children before serving. ✧Alpharetta Roll was a 7/10 because the fish was very fresh but there was a little too much mayo and no spiciness at all. I would recommend less mayo in the lobster salad and more spice in the spicy scallop. ✧Service was fantastic. Our server was so friendly and easy to talk to, she answered any of our questions and was more than happy to help with anything we needed♡ I also want to mention that the employee bussing tables was efficient, greeted people with a smile, and we even saw him run out into the parking lot to return someone's glasses to them before they drove away. Our daughter had a great time looking through the window to watch the chefs in the kitchen cooking and pulling noodles, which a lot of people visiting the restaurant seemed to enjoy seeing! ✧Lastly, this location is so kid friendly, and I have to say that the high chairs were CLEAN!! I was thrilled to learn that Lanzhou was opening a restaurant in Roswell, where I live. Roswell is sadly a desert for Asian food, so I am very pleased to have this small oasis now. The restaurant was busy on a Friday evening, with diners eating a mix of sushi, noodle soup, and other options. They are smart to have such a wide range of cuisine in this area. But we came for the dumplings. The fried pot sticker dumplings and soup dumplings were excellent. The scallion pancakes also very good. We also had the Chinese style spicy chicken and will be having it again. Their noodles are impressive and you can watch them hand pull them at the window. However, we have struggled at the other Lanzhou to find a stir fried noodle we would order again. Well we really enjoyed the Beef stir fried noodle we tried, and will order again. The restaurant appears to do steady business and we could hear the dings of numerous platform orders like uber eats. I do have to be candid and say right now having only been open a month, I do not think it is as good as the Lanzhou on Buford Highway. The Lanzhou on Buford Highway is a bib gourmand Michelin restaurant, so meeting those expectations is challenging. It may catch up. But when you compare it to the Asian restaurants in Roswell and Alpharetta, it is a 10 out of 10. We have to drive to Buford Highway or Duluth for Asian food of this quality. This place is amazing! It set a new bar for me with Chinese food! So fresh and flavorful! And you can watch them hand-pulling the noodles and rolling out dumplings! So fun!

The staff were all friendly and attentive and service was prompt. I had the OMG sushi roll on my first visit and it was incredible! Huge portion too. The dumplings were wonderful and I enjoyed the tea served in the cutest pot!

My second visit was just as good and the place was packed (the word is getting out!)

Today i just had to write a review because Lanzhou catered a lunch I attended and our group of 60 couldn’t stop talking about the food! Everyone loved it! And they were so generous with the amount of food as well - plenty for everyone! All was hot and delivered right on time and they pulled that off with very short notice. Impressive!
