This was our first time at Feng Cha. We happened upon it while going to the hardware store -- we didn't even know it was here before.
We typically go to Bubble Bubble in Rockwall, but weren't headed that way and I was craving a mango slush.
We decided to try Feng Cha instead.
I ended up getting what they said was a slush, but it had milk in it as well (after looking online, I believe it was their cheese milk). They've only got one flavor of popping boba (brown sugar, I believe), so I ended up getting the crystal boba. It, as well as the other flavors, are the chewy jelly kind, not popping.
It was good. It wasn't what I was really craving, but it grew on me. It was tasty, just in a different way than what my taste buds really wanted.
The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, and the employees were kind as well.
The unfortunate part of the experience is how long it took to make the drinks. We're used to a fast turnaround at Bubble Bubble -- you don't even have time to sit down before they're calling your name. But at Feng Cha, our drinks took more than 10 minutes, even though the restaurant was not full. Only 1 customer had been in line before us, so we didn't expect it to take that long.
One thing I will say is that the person who called out that our order was ready did apologize for the wait, which was nice. It also leads me to believe that maybe the usual wait time isn't that long.
Overall, it's a pleasant place with tasty drinks, but it won't be my first choice if I'm craving boba.
But if I'm not headed to Rockwall, I will likely stop by Feng Cha again. (My husband probably will not, though. He didn't dislike his drink, but it was not...
Read moreBest boba in Rowlett! I love Feng Cha and have been to several in the dfw area. It is really one of the best tea shops you can visit as the quality and taste is unmatched. I'm obsessed with their cheese foams which have a cream cheese taste and often get double the cream cheese when I get any milk based drink.
My favorite is their taro breeze which is essentially a taro milk tea smoothie blended perfectly with ice. It is one of the best taro flavored drinks I've been able to find and I never get an substitutions.
Lychee and regular Boba toppings are unmatched. The boba is perfectly made and I love how you can taste the freshness with every chewy and sweet bite.
Other drinks I highly recommend are their creme brûlée dirty boba drink, Oreo cheese milk tea, matcha latte, the citrus lord, dragon fruit.
If you're looking for a quick sweet to eat for dessert, they also serve delicious cakes: tiramisu treasure, matcha love, Oreo cheese, sea salt pearl, taro chocolate, and strawberry princess. Everything is good!
Not the greatest place to study due to high traffic volume but it's an awesome place to hang out with friends and play some games.
I also appreciate how the owners have made a great effort to be involved with the community and show their commitment to the area. This is a great place to show your support...
Read moreThe first time I went was great it was on a Sunday and there were only guys. They did a great jobs serving and also great customer service. Went today for the second time on a Tuesday and there where only girls. The drinks I order where extremely sweet and had to go back to see if they could fix them. The girl on front didn’t do anything to make them better. She didn’t even care if I was satisfied with my order. She just told me to put water on my drink. I don’t know how she was hired if she does know how to handle customers. The first time I went and the second time I had order the same drink. The first time it was great and this time it was supposed to have less sweetness and it was horrible sweet. I didn’t ask for a new one or my money back, I just wanted her to make it less sweet. My son had the same drink as me and he just throw it on the trash. Please fix thing in this place because i really like boba drinks. I didn’t ask for much just to get my drink less sweet. I order the mango ay lait, how am I supposed to add water on a milk drink?
To the owner, if you would like to check your cameras and see the conversation I had with girl in front of the store. Next time how about offering making a new drink instead of telling customers to add water to...
