Harbor Freight — Local services in Rowlett

2024 Update This location still rocks. I still go here and although some of the personnell have changed, the service remains the same.

I love Harbor Freight and I enjoy this location because it's closer to my house in Wylie (closer than the one in Richardson) and it's a lot easier to access for me. You can easily access it on the eastbound lanes of the 66 (Lakeview Parkway) or the northbound lanes of Rowlett road. Easy to find and can clearly see from the road and the intersection of Rowlett & SR-66.

If you are not familiar with HFT, the tools are great and most of the hand tools are lifetime warranted. I've had tools break on me and I returned one 4 years later and the other about 2 years after the purchase and they just refunded my money on one and gave me a new tool on the other.

The service is good, the price is right and the quality-for-the-price is excellent. Some may say it's cheaper and not quality tools. Here's how I'll say it: "If you are a hobbyist or just need tools for work around the house, HFT is the perfect place for you!" Why? Will never go back. Very unfriendly unreasonable staff. When I got there i needed to use the bathroom and I went to the door and tried to open it and it was locked. So i stand and wait. A few more people go by and try to open it and after a little kid tried to go in he screams so loud the kid jumps and runs away. When the guy FINALLY comes out it turns out he works there. He looks straight to me and asks if i was the one who "was trying to rattle the door handle off the door" i responded "me and 4 others." We had an argument back and forward. And I guess when he realized he was in the wrong and on the losing end he tells me to leave and that I can't talk to him like that. Even though he was the one who got aggressive and got in my face then radioed to his buddy for backup I guess he tells me to leave. I said fine. Neither me or any of the people that I can tell about this will ever be back here. Ive visited this store a few times and never was impressed by the staff but this was most definitely the deciding factor. If i could return everything I bought from them and get my money back I would. And take every penny to northern tool whos staff were actually helpful...

if i could leave Zero stars i would.. i walked into the location in rowlett at 7:45pm. Kc the supervisor refused to take my return. said he cannot do returns from 7-8. i asked him where that is in the policy as i drove an hour away with my sister. i asked him to call his store manager to approve it.. he said his store manager kyle would bite his head off if he called him while he was “chillin” at home.. then KC proceeded to ask me “would u want to be called at home while you’re off” actually for the satisfaction of my customers i wouldnt mind. especially for a verbal confirmation. we’re leaving 2 bad reviews. me and my sister because she wasted time and gas money, and i’m leaving a review bec my items WITH a receipt couldn’t be returned. now there’s 2 bad reviews and a nice long call to corporate. customers ALWAYS come first in business . without customers YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS. there was no reason my items couldn’t be returned because a store manager told an employee between certain hours no returns are...
