BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT BUY THEIR PRE-OWNED CERTIFIED PHONE ALONG WITH THEIR ASURION SERVICE PROTECTION PLAN- BE WARNED!!! I just want the public to be aware of this BEFORE buying a pre-owned certified phone & the service protection plan from Optimum!!!!!
The sales guy Daniel really has no idea what he is selling!! I bought a pre-owned certified phone from this store just a few days ago- he NEVER told me this means it can NEVER be returned...i had never owned such a phone so had no idea at all, so he told me it's a phone returned by customers after a few days n has never been used! He also sold me their Ausurion Optimum Mobile Device Protection Plan and told me that everything including the data transfer from the old phone to the new one would be covered under this plan. He said that I could either call the 866 number or go to the Ubreakifix store which they said does the Asurion service, in the Rockaway Mall. So I went to that store right after. The guy there said that I had been incorrectly informed by the Optimum store about this and that he was going to charge me $100 for the data transfer-I really needed my new phone to operate fully same day for personal urgent stuff, so quickly went to my friend's store that did the data transfer for me for just $35.
I also noticed since i bought the phone, that the battery was draining almost immediately so today 02Aug25, went to the Optimum store to mention the above and also to ask getting a new battery. Daniel told me that he and his manager are correct and that he has no control over what the store in the Rockaway mall does! He said i should have spoken to the manager in the Asurion store! For the battery he told me to go back to that store and get a new one for free!
UPDATE TO THE ABOVE: I went to the Asurion store in the Rockaway mall just now. Their "manager" told me that the Optimum store should have told me to first file a claim with the 866 number then they will do the battery replacement!! Also, he confirmed that they DO NOT do the data transfer, even if I file a claim with Azurion for that!!!
Daniel has absolutely no idea what they he is selling to customers regarding the Asurion service protection plan! He needs to be educated about it, instead of sending customers off after merely selling the phone to get his "commision," and then washing his hands off if them. Plus, Daniel needs to be better educated on how to deal with customers, rather than be so argumentative & lie! (The only saving grace is this guy, Renzo ...he was able to give me some useful tips about my home Optimum service)
I did try to file a claim with Azurion on the phone and they gave me the run around as well and put me on hold several times.They went back and forth and finally connected me with somone who said i would be charged to get a new battery & then connected me to a wrong line!! Super frustrated, I went back to the store & started yelling as this was the 3rd time i was there (I had already wasted so much time, money, gas) After some back & forth, i saw Daniel who was in the inner part of the store ooening the door and beckiong the guy- thevguy goes inside, comes out after a few minutes, saying he "spoke to the manager" and I that I had only 2 options - to call the 800 number or leave!! Told him the 800 number did not help - then he says, ok then leave! So I left, saying, look, I am NOT going to keep quiet about this!!
I needed a new phone and service urgently last year also...so i bought into their mobil phone plan (which BTW sucks! Calls get dropped very often) and the now to this new phone and their service protection plan as well.....I feel so cheated and scammed BIG time!!! In this day and where customer service should be much better- this is the crap we have to deal with! I believe the Optimum store should take more responsibility over this issue before customers are put through the hardship of going back and forth with the Asurion connected store before they market the whole thing about their so called service protection plan....!!! ITS ALL A BIG SCAM...

New location by WALMART IN LEDGEWOOD IS DISGUSTINGLY INCOMPETENT AS WELL. “UNABLE” to assist NEW/PAID UPFRONT CUSTOMERS ! going on week two of NO install. Five techs dispatched out, each one had no clue or idea what they were sent for. Please I am begging you do not I repeat DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS COMPANY. I work from home & possibly may be out of a job due to this company. They offered all the answers & help when I prepaid for my equipment & service 2 weeks prior but now no one in person ( ledgewood locations where purchase took place ) this company will have you out of a job as many times as they reschedule and do not follow through. Definitely contacting BBB ! Do not let this company take your money then your time and sanity if you’re able to keep your job after dealing with them. This is the 6th technician out today & again he had no idea why he was even dispatched ! First technician on day one arrived and worked for 9 hours in total (spoke zero English so we still don’t know what he did in our home which is scary in itself !) did nothing but disconnect our last service then lie and say he would re connect it ( google translate was used & still lied) so for 9 hours we had a man in our home unable to speak English just dicking around with wiring .. again we still don’t know what he did for that amount of time and it’s unsettling to say a complete stranger was on our property this long and completed absolutely nothing ! Time for credit monitoring and checking rooms for cameras bc at this point several techs came after and stated he did nothing. If I could give them -10 I would.

My account was hacked and had to get a new card, so I went to the store to update my card. So i thought that everything was good. Unitl the payment never went through. So I went back again and they said that the person who set it up before never did it right. So I'm like wft! So finally I thought it was good until this morning when i notice that my wifi was out. So I called customer service and they were like no automatic was set up and I was late on my payments. I'm like WFT!. So I pay my bill and hopefully the service agegent did it right this time.
