Definitely a hidden gem. Came in on a whim because I saw good reviews and was on the hunt for a good slice to go. There were several pizza options in the display and ready to order which I love about a pizza spot. I ordered a Sicilian sausage/red pepper, pepperoni hot honey and a white slice. I would have stayed to eat at one of the few small tables but the baby was in the car. The pizza looked so amazing I ate some right in the parking lot it did not disappoint. The crust on the Sicilians was perfect and flavor was delicious. White pie was also simple and perfect. Can’t wait to try the cheese! It was great to meet and interact directly with the owner, Paul. He explained how he bought the business from his parents and has been in his family for decades with roots in Brooklyn and Italy. He even threw in a free cheese slice because he knew I was a new customer! Nice guy and love to see the passion for a small family business. In my short time there, Monday afternoon, several people came in to order to sit and for takeout which said to me they have a good customer base which is a good sign. Moving to Roxbury from Bergen County a few years ago we still haven’t quite settled on our favorite pizza spot yet. I’d say this is in the running for our favorites and we will be back!!

Luigi’s is great old school pizza. Never a bad slice. We routinely leave our hometown to come here; in a market with lots of great choices for pizza, Luigi’s is our choice. Tonight was a simple pie, a little extra done as we requested. Add a small order of buffalo wings and a salad, we’re set. My wife likes that they have fountain birch beer. Their crust is perfect, never disappoints. It is a hidden gem in a shopping mall, that’s outlived quite a few other restaurants. We’ve met some great people over the years in this hometown gem. The artwork on the walls is fun to explore.

At Luigi’s they do it right. I don’t know if it is because they sell pizza by the slice but their crust is one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Even after a long ride in the car the crust had a crunchy outside texture with a perfect balance of chewy dough. The sauce had the perfect flavor and a balanced acidity with sweetness. Although I have not tried them, people who have had the sausage roles and the Stromboli swear by it. They are unfortunately 30+ miles from where we live but if we are in the neighborhood we definitely make a point of stopping by.

Received raw meatballs in my meatball parm from this place, called up simply to explain in hopes of either getting a refund or another sandwhich, to my surprise the young man (Not the owner) told me without even asking to see them "the meatballs are pink because the sauce turns them pink" scary.. That makes zero sense. Then proceeded to tell me "they aren't raw they are cooked" mind you I am on the phone and he hadn't even seen them. Horrible customer service skulls, argued with me instead of offering help. Never going back, it's a shame because the owner is a great guy and very good at...
