Mason's Cellar — Local services in Rutherford

I love this place. Great selection of wine and beer with a nice combination of staples to niche (hard to find a shop that stocks Gruner Veltliner!) They have some wines from upstate NY as well- I vacation in the Finger Lakes from time to time but havent visited the wineries they offer wine from (I'd do anything to see some stuff from Lakewood Vineyards, just saying). Beers range from the basic to the craft, and there are some interesting hard seltzers on hand. There's a bit of merchandise and tchotchkes too. There's a little room to the side where they keep The Good Stuff if you're looking to go all out. Little refrigerated case near the front with cheeses and other goodies (Beecher's cheese! Swoon!) Prices are reasonable. Staff is super friendly. And the space itself is gorgeous! High lofted ceilings- I wonder what that building used to be back in the day? They have an event space too, but I haven't seen it and can't comment on it. All in all, every step of the shopping experience is delightful and I'm so happy to have a place like this...

Ordered a wine that was listed on the website as 2009, order was accepted and charged as that vintage. When I came in to pick up they couldn’t find the order and the clerk checked the racks and said they only had %1 bottle and was a 2017. He called his boss and he told him he had picked the wine and brought out front. Unfortunately it was on in the window in direct sunlight. One bottle was very hot and yes they were all 2017’s. Very poor communication and falsely advertising an older vintage when there were none available. Will never buy from...

Hands down the best liquor store and wine cellar around! Not only do they have the greatest selection, but their staff is always so helpful and friendly. They offer not just wine and spirits, but also gifts, housewares, and a gift card selection that will make your sides hurt from laughing so hard. OH and a fully stocked cheese fridge for the perfect pairings! I can't say enough about how incredible this place is. Definitely make it a stop on...
