When I got pregnant, I knew I wanted to continue working out and safely. I heard Pilates was great for pregnancy and found out that there was a Pilates studio nearby. I called the owner, Jodi, to inquire about classes and let her know I was pregnant. She mentioned sheās had experience giving classes to pregnant ladies and that I could come take a demo class to try it out. I had a good feeling about her, so I gave it a go and Iām so glad I did. Jodiās classes are intimate with about 8 people, which is nice because itās structured in a way that can be modified for beginners, preggos, and those who are more advanced in their training all in one class! I was not limited to taking a specific class at a specific day, and we were all able to workout together without missing a beat. She is so knowledgeable and personable; going to class was always fun and one of the highlights of my day. I was able to take classes from three weeks into my pregnancy until just about a month and a half before I gave birth. I probably could have gone longer, but mama was getting tired! Kat was also amazing at training me when I was pregnant. After I gave birth and came back, I met Alexa and Rose. I enjoyed their classes so much and felt so challenged taking their classes. Iām so happy I found Jodi and her studio, as she has been instrumental in my development and strength Iām beginning to achieve. I have a birth injury that impacts how I move my right arm; however, thru Pilates and Jodiās dedication, skills/ knowledge and patience - she has helped me modify exercises to ensure that Iām working my muscles and building core strength. Iāve definitely seen improvements in my overall body and working muscles in my arm that greatly needs attention. Im very grateful for Jodiās classes and her level of passion and support she has provided me over the past months. I really love that Jodiās classes are smaller in size and she gives each person individual attention. She takes time to each personās needs, where they may or may not have challenging areas and she teaches new ways to modify exercises to ensure safety but also that Iām working muscles that will only get stronger over time.
