Beware no cameras allowed! What a weird experience. My kids took a picture with their cell phone upon entering the front door. Keep in mind we are in a "touristy place"' Before they even made it to the counter, the manager approached them and told them they would have to erase the picture because it had a patron in it. My kids thought she was joking (but she was not). When my son showed her that you could barely see the patron in the picture. The manager tried to press the delete button on his phone to erase the pic.(who does that?). My gosh what a strange and weird experience!! That place just lost our business of 5. We will not go back again due to their (weird rules) and lack of hospitality.
So today 7/12/21 after months after the post I get a reply saying it was military personnel inside the shop! NO NO NO!. --- unless they were "undercover" as the person in the shop was a girl that when I went up to the manager to address the issue I was told by the "girl" dressed in regular cloths (with no military uniform on, with no disguise (no sunglasses, hat ect) that she was a model and gets her picture taken for a living. I told her that my kids were taking a picture of the shop and not her (a bit paranoid/conceded if she thinks everyone wants a picture of her) --- don't ya think? You could barely see her in the photo. That manager had no right touching my sons phone! (Do you get that shop owner? Your Manager of the store literally was touching my son's phone to try to erase the photo!! - look at your cameras and you will see)! I assure you no paparazzi was around either (so, should I even believe the story that she is model? ---- not very famous I'd say). She and the manager at the front were basically the only people in the shop besides us! The manager said it was her friend. What kind of BS is this manager telling the shop owner? Does the owner agree with no photo graphs and for management to grab someones property? What if the manager caused my son to drop his phone and thus break it because she was pressing on it? If you are the owner, wake up and smell the coffee and have some common sense! Also, if pictures are not allowed to be taken of your shop you should post a signs all over informing...
Read moreThis is a nice place to drop into, either from the front that faces the Fort or the back that faces the George Street area. There is an outside seating section back there and some limited seating inside.
This is a very interesting and well designed space inside that serves a wide variety of coffee drinks and has a modest but acceptable variety of wines to choose from. It's got a bit of "Cheers" vibe to it. Even if you're not particularly thirsty, it's a very cute place and refreshing just to cut through the place from front to back for a couple of minutes of AC, great smells, and you might just be more thirsty than you thought. Gotta keep hydrated you know. đ
A couple of weeks ago I stopped in and got an iced coffee, but I've had many other options in here as well and everything is always very well prepared and fresh. I don't think they do their own roasting, but it's still quite fresh.
My only wish is that they had a better selection of teas. My wife isn't a coffee drinker but she loves to try different teas and steeps, and we generally end up at a second location for that. They are also a little short on snacks other than pastries, which I am trying to avoid.
The staff has always been welcoming and helpful without being intrusive, so I don't mind just browsing without feeling pressured to hurry up and buy something. It's not overcrowded and the shelves aren't stuffed, but there's always something new and...
Read moreCity Perks Coffee Co. is AWESOME! I havenât been to every coffee shop in this town, but I would be willing to bet money that this place is one of the best. Itâs super big, has tons of unique coffee drinks and food items available, and is definitely worth checking out if youâre visiting the area!
When we went, we ordered an iced Short Stack, a hot latte with almond milk, an iced Chai tea latte with regular milk, and a hot Chai tea latte with regular milk. All four drinks were really, really good. The Short Stack is one of several highly-unique coffee drinks on their menu (literally tasted like it had a light hint of blueberry in it!) and both that drink and the hot latte were nice, strong coffees with great flavor! The Chai lattes mightâve been the best part - they were SO good. They tasted way more true to what a Chai latte would taste like in India, if you visited there. Such a nice flavor!
The store is also connected to a wine shop as well (if youâre interested in that) and has a great selection of desserts and food items. They even have a whole bunch of ice pops, canned drinks, and more! They really offer a lot at City Perks Coffee Co. and it really is a shame this place isnât nearer to where we live. We would come here all the time!!
Definitely will be revisiting whenever we come by the St. Augustine area again. Love...
