Been a life long customer of this place until today when I got price gouged for Propane. They are charging $3.49 per gallon! Higher than diesel or gasoline, or any other place I've found in the county, or even Cal Ranch in Cedar City for that matter. I don't take kindly to being price gouged, so as of today, I won't frequent the store anymore either. I'll be taking my business, which also consisted of Stihl products somewhere else.
Update: It's now August 31, 2021 and haven't been back to this place for Propane once. I've also found out that if your looking for propane, you can buy it at Duck Creek Village even, which is also never cheap for anything, and still about $25 cents cheaper per gallon. Why even bother toting around propane bottles at all? Also, You can find propane in Cedar City, if your going that way right along the main drive and next to Cal Ranch for about $2.60 per gallon, which is around a dollar a gallon cheaper than this rip off joint. Save your $$$ and stop supporting price gouging stores.
Update October 22, 2021
In response to Cal-Ranch's response. I realize looking back on my remarks that some of them might seem a bit harsh. Cal Ranch is still a pretty good place to do business for most products. Admittedly I do still visit this store once in a while for things and most things are right on par and some even cheaper than a lot of other local competitors. Having said that, I no longer buy propane here and don't even consider calling. I don't believe anywhere is posted what the price of your propane is here at this site. It used to be located outside of the front doors on a sign. Having done business for at least 10 years of pretty much exclusively buying propane here and only here, I was nothing short of shocked at the price jump that had literally taken place over the period of just 2 weeks time. NOBODY else in the area had a price jump this extreme, nor did anyone I know of or do business with ever get this high over the period of the entire summer. What I don't get, is why Cedar City's Cal Ranch store had propane prices 0.50 cheaper a gallon. The prices that you are purchasing it for cannot be that different for a store in the same area. I hope that many people have had a chance to see this review and choose to get their fuel somewhere else. Prices for fuel of all types have become...
Read moreUPDATE: Feb 5th 2024. Employees are still insanely rude! Kelly at the cashiers desk SHOULD NOT be working customer service. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone so unwilling to help or answer a question. I called and spoke with an assistant manager right after I left the store today too explain exactly what happened and why I thought management should know. I asked Kelly a simple question about a size of dog food bag and when it might be back in stock. Her response was not only unprofessional, but she didnt even ask me what dog food i was inquiring about. Her response was "I have no idea we dont do any ordering." While that may be true, me as a customer assumes that a barcode or SKU might show an expected arrival date or if its on backorder? This information was not offered or even thought of. Last week I had a similar situation with kelly when i asked about chickens. I noticed the chick brooders were set up and i asked when they were expecting chickens. Her response "I don't know! No idea!" This was my last straw. I spend so much damn money at this store to be treated like this. I will support locally owned farmer stores...
Read moreI recently bought Georgia boots from here a 300 dollar pair. 36 days after wearing them everyday one of the metal brackets broke. When I called the store they where happy to help me get a new pair when I showed up they called over the Clothing Store Manager and she proceeded to be very rude to me saying they need to change the return policy back to 30 days, blamed me for being to "rough" with them. And kept being very immature and not professional at all. She's lucky I had my kids with me otherwise I would of told her off. On top of all of this I can buy a Walmart pair of boots for 80 n they last me years. I have bought Georgia boots in the past for good reasons because they last long and they are comfortable. The Manager should of handled it better than she did. I will not be buying hardly anything in this store anymore and I have spent a Lil over 2 grand so far. No more. I will go to tractor supply. Everywhere else you go to buy this expensive of product they always give you a 60 to 90 day return policy. 30 days for 300 bucks doesn't sit well with me and she clearly need to be put in the back not dealing...
