Hello there! I have never made a complaint about anything at Costco, but this one I can’t just let it go. We love Costco, have been with Costco for years, and because I love Costco so much I feel like I need to bring this up. Before this whole pandemic started I ordered new glasses at our Costco optical (St. George, UT). I received my glasses and they couldn’t be adjusted. I came in another 2 times because they would just fall off my face (my prescription is really high and I can’t see without them). And I finally asked if I could returned them after giving them 3 chances and about 3 weeks. The lady that helped me was extremely friendly and helpful (all the Costco optical was still off because of the pandemic). I tried the glasses for another 2 days and I really couldn’t do it anymore. We came back to return the glasses not worried, the lady that talked to me two days before told me to do not worry and it was going to be fine, hassle free return. The lady that cake talk to me when I came to make the return (all the optical stuff was back), was EXTREMELY RUDE. She kept trying to readjust it because she kept saying how it wasn’t done properly, and she kept throwing on my face how she told me before that those glasses weren’t for me (PURE LIE! She told me that they were perfect when I tried them on!), and I wasn’t arguing, but she kept going how she remembers the whole conversation. It turns out that lady is THE FREAKING MANAGER OF OPTICAL! I don’t know where else to go to make this complaint. She was so rude that when I got home I cried. NO MEMBER SHOULD BE TREATED THAT POORLY! Specially if you are a manager! Control your freaking tongue! This whole situation is seriously making me rethink our membership. I truly hope someone brings this up and get her attitude on check! If I can’t order my contacts on the Costco app we are leaving to some where else where are treated in a fair way. I truly hope I hear back. Thank...
Read moreoverall this Costco is really nice. It’s typically very clean but always very crowded but that’s to be expected. However the last 3 times I have been here the same short brown woman with short hair and glasses is NOTHING but rude and unhelpful. I typically shop alone with my 1 year old son and use self checkout so that I may box my groceries in groups to make unloading easier on myself at home. 3 SEPARATE visits this same woman is rude for no reason. She refuses to help scan heavy things under the cart, she told me I couldn’t remove items from the bagging area during scanning and if the bay was full to use boxes, but when i noticed there were no boxes around she told me she would not go grab any. This trip i had grabbed a box of muffin and a box of “frosted muffins” for the 2 for 9.99 deal. I assumed they were apart of the deal because they were on the muffin table. Upon scanning at checkout she comes up to us after they were rung up and tell us that the deal didn’t apply. I tried to tell her that I thought they were, due to their location in the store. She RUDELY responds “what do you want me to do? you’re supposed to read it.” That really threw me off so I responded with “Okay then I don’t need them. I found them by the muffins so I assumed they were part of the deal.” I wasn’t just gonna leave them at checkout so i brought them to a very nice gentleman near customer service to ensure they were returned to their CORRECT spot for someone else to purchase. At the same time I hear that horrible woman start talking and pointing at my family and i. She more than likely thought I was stealing and had ZERO hesitation in running to cry wolf to someone. It’s incredibly embarrassing to be talked down on and treated like i’m stupid for not understanding the pricing on products at a place i...
Read moreI would like to express my disappointment with the recent shopping experience at Costco in St. George, UT, on August 20th. Unfortunately, my family and I encountered an unpleasant incident that left us feeling disheartened.
During our visit, we walked past the Noosa yoghurt sampling counter, where my polite 6-year-old daughter asked the elderly lady in charge if she could try two different flavors samples. To our surprise, the response we received was incredibly rude and unaccommodating. The lady flatly refused my daughter's innocent request and begrudgingly allowed her to take just one sample. It was disheartening to witness such discourtesy, especially towards a child.
As a frequent Costco shopper, I believe that the free sampling activities are meant to enhance the shopping experience for customers. However, in this instance, the attitude displayed by the staff member did just the opposite. If the store is unable to afford the sampling activities, it would be more respectful to discontinue them altogether. Rudely denying a young child's simple request for different flavor samples is not a dignified way to handle the situation.
Customer service is an essential aspect of any business, and a respectful and considerate approach can significantly impact the overall shopping experience. It is my hope that this feedback will reach the appropriate channels within Costco, and that steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
I believe that the values of courtesy and respect should be upheld at all times, especially in a family-friendly environment like Costco. My intention in sharing this experience is not only to bring attention to the issue, but also to contribute to the improvement of customer service for everyone who chooses to shop at Costco...
