We have been very COVID-conscious and my boys (6 mo and 2.5) realllllly needed haircuts. I was super excited when I saw that there was only one stylist working (Monica) on a Sunday and the first two spots of the day were open! Pros: ā¢we were the only people there ā¢tv played a kid show ā¢hand sanitizer available ā¢baby and toddler friendly seats
Cons: ā¢the haircuts are bad. Like BAD. Like they look like I did them. Iām not sure why. I had a picture of standard toddler boy haircuts. Nothing fancy. But the 6 mo old looks like a mushroom and the 2.5 year oldās is uneven. There was no one waiting. No one was booked for the slot after us. She seemed rushed. When she asked how it looked, I had her redo the babyās hair because it was literally a bowl cut. She seemed pretty annoyed and rushed. ā¢a first haircut is a huge experience and milestone. I feel like she could have been more warm about it ā¢she was not very little-kid friendly. Just didnāt seem very warm. Buzzers are kind of scary for 2 year olds. I guess I expected a hair place that is exclusively for kids to be a little more kid-centered. ā¢cost. $20 for a bad haircut and negative experience
Overall, Iām glad there was a place where my boys could get āprivateā haircuts. It was nice to be the only family there. But I wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Highland park Location was a terrible experience for me and my son! My 20 month old son was crying and super scared during his 1st haircut. Drea barely said a word, and was very frustrated during the haircut. She asked me to restrain him a few times, pulled out some bubbles, and handed my son a toy once during the entire visit , and she never smiled or interacted with him . She then covered my sons mouth and nose with her hand in a frustrated/angry manner to attempt to get him to stop crying. I told her to remove her hand, and she eventually ran into the back room and did not return. She left my son traumatized, with a bad haircut and she abused him. Drea M. abused my son and I am not going to stop writing reviews and pursuing legal action until she is removed from the company. She should never work with kids, she is not emotionally stable for this type of job. She was snipping at my sons hair around his ears in a very dangerous manner, I would give 0 stars but that is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe drive out of our way to come to this particular location. My 8 year old hates haircuts, he finds them very overwhelming. I love how accommodating the stylists are here. When he was younger he couldnāt handle the clippers being used on him, so the stylists happily used the scissors instead, no big deal. If he suddenly moves or shudders or something, the stylists are able to bob and weave with him. They donāt appear to be bothered by his movements at all. He also likes the TVs at every station, theyāre a great distraction. The cuts are legitimately good as well, very stylish. They have been equally good at cutting short styles as they were when he had long hair. Iām not a huge fan of all the toys for sale because itās hard to get him out of the door without him wanting something. But it is what it is. Iāll definitely bring my daughter here when sheās ready for...
