It's interesting how I found out about this place. My 9 year old is autistic and loves music and vinyl records. We were at Walmart and he was looking through their vinyl selection and was hunting for something specific. I was a few aisles down watching him and my son asks anyone walking by if they can help him find a vinyl (He assumes everyone walking by works at Walmart). My son asked this couple walking by if they could help him and I notice they're genuinely stepping up to help. I walk over to thank them and relieve them of their mission my son put them on and began talking. We realize we have a lot in common and I begin to notice these are genuinely good people. As they're about to walk away and go about their day, the husband turns to tell me that if I'm into arcades and comics, they're opening a new location near where I live. He gives me his card and my daughter, standing there the whole time, lit up when he said arcades. She's 5 going on 13. The next day, we're looking for something to do and my daughter asks if we can go to this place. We load up and head out the door. We get there and we're the only ones there. The gentleman working was super nice and walked me through the building explaining the rooms and back story about how this place came to fruition. It was a fantastic story of dreams becoming reality and dedication to creating a unique experience in gaming with classical and state of the art equipment at a reasonable price. Then there's a legitimate comic book area to boot. Overall, a clean, super fun, non wallet busting place in my neighborhood where my kids can go and create memories of "I remember that place! I loved going there." I mean, that's kinda what parents want for their kids, right? The better parts of our pasts being passed along to your offspring is a very fulfilling experience. Whether sports, gaming, or any other activity you remember, to pass that along makes you feel like there's a chance you're doing a good job as a parent. Every neighborhood should have a Hero Complex is...
