Before I get into my review, hereās a list of places you should visit, instead of this trolley:
Sarahās Christmas Lights Listššā¤ļø Largo Lights of Lake Park* Largo Central Park* Palm Harbor Lights @Indian Trails* Florida Botanical Garden ($10)* Oakdale Christmas display North Straub Park* St. Pete Pier Candy Cane Lane @ 50th St. & 82nd Ave 101st Circle Corner of Starkey/Park Blvd. and Jacaranda and so many other neighborhoods⦠*All, individually, better than this trolley ride, plus no headache.š Ok, letās get into itā¦
Aside from the horrible diesal fumes which can be tough to battle, and the cringe of our host desperately filling all the dead air between stops, of which there are 3 total stops, one of which is a bathroom break and much too much driving⦠it was disappointing. I did better just driving the family around myself.
Biggest missed opportunities: Not stopping at Straub Park.š²š¤Æ This is the biggest highlight of the entire area and for whatever reason the trolley did not stop to allow for photo ops, (it was late, there was a lot of space to do so, idk figure it out). There is an abundance of photo ops in N. Straub Park. An Abundance. My suggestion: Come on your own, in your own car, find parking and enjoy your time at this park. Itās not to be missed. Located 10 minutes from the trolley start and end pt. but we drove PAST it twice on the way to see nothing special and nothing really.
The next major missed opportunity was not taking the trolley down the St. Pete Pier! At least partially?! Why not??𤯠This was a big, big miss in my opinion.
We drove to the Oakdale house which is great in its own right, but definitely brought the family there a couple days ago, sooo, but thatās OK ā¦then we went to Snell Island (been living in the area over 11 years, never heard of it, very unremarkable) and stopped the trolley at a gazebo for a photo op. I didnāt even bother to take a picture because I was just unimpressed (I said a gazebo, reg. backyard sized, smaller) and considering we drove like 10 minutes to get there and now 10 minutes to get back, I was laughing on the inside. Many people did not bother to get off the trolley, those that did said, to āget away from the fumes.ā I donāt recommend this tour. The driver was great, kind and polite. The guy with the mic needs to take it easy how he talks to people⦠poor guy seems like he really went through something that heās clearly still working through. Telling randoms they quote, āneed a boyfriend without a spine to mop for themā is very weird thing to say in response to someone, after being prompted, asking Santa for a rumba. They sell them on Amazon, itās not that serious.weirdo.
This was just far too disappointing. To be so close and just simply pass by the pier and the park, was stunning. Everyone got a headache from the fumes. Someone who lived in the area actually decided to leave on the bathroom break because they couldnāt tolerate the fumes. They clearly have a good thing going here. imo, Everything was whack, but the driverā¦...

I HIGHLY recommend booking an experience with Star Trolley. They make planning events with them professional and efficient, and they deliver the good times!
Booking with them was simple. They are very quick to respond with pricing, and they work with you to get you set up with the Trolley and vibe you are after. You book the time and then you direct the night! You are able to choose wherever you want to go. They work with you to stop off at restaurants, bars, the beach, sight seeing; you name it and they will take you there AND itās BYOB!
The trolleys are beautifully decorated. I rented one at Christmas for an event with friends and we did the Champagne Room last night for a friendās bday.
Communication with Star Trolley is excellent. They are in touch with you to plan your event and if you donāt have a plan in mind they recommend one for you, take you around and make sure that everyone has a great time.
Our driver Paul swung by the house in advance of our event to figure out where he could park to make sure we all got on safely. I was so impressed and thankful that he thought to do that.
When it was Trolley time, Paul was there dressed up and ready to take us out on the town. He brought a cooler with ice for us and he had the playlist ready to go. We were pumping great music on that beauty. You also have the option to connect and do your own playlist.
We had an amazing time. If you are on the fence about a Star Trolley experience, consider this your call to action. Book it. You and your crew will not regret it and have memories to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStar Trolley is a beautiful ride that is definitely picturesque. We had originally paid to have this trolley for our wedding, and were charged for 8 hours of service. As we paid for the initial deposit we were charged a large percentage for 'Taxes' and 'Gas' even though the deposit was prior to any services being provided.
Fast forward to October - our wedding was eventually rescheduled due to Hurricane Ian, in which case Star Trolley confirmed they would be able to provide the same 8-hour services for our newly scheduled date in January 2023. Two-weeks before our rescheduled wedding, we were told that Star Trolley now had an event the morning of and would be shaving an hour off of our original contract, bringing it down to 7-hours of service for which we were never refunded.
Despite the Trolley showing up on time for our day, we did hear from our guests that when the Trolly picked up our wedding guests the Driver attempted to leave them a block away from the venue and suggested they walk the rest of the way. We knew that the Trolley could fit on the street of our venue, because he had dropped off the wedding party at the front door and yet was giving our wedding guests (some of which were seniors) a hard time, and expecting them to walk down the road instead of giving them the same service.
