Fantastic exhibit, horrible employees. I love these type of museums. I legit travel across the country to visit them. I've been to all 3 Meow Wolf in the midwest and also otherworld in Ohio. I was extremely excited to find out we had this less than 45 mins away from my home in Tampa. Well...I will say the exhibit was great. Yes it is smaller, but so is the price. It's a lot less crowds as well. If you take your time to understand the story you can easily fit in a few hours. It also is connected to a few free museums.
That is where my praise ends. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OMG. They are the worst. I hate paying any company who can't respect a customers time. Or in my case even acknowledge me standing in front of you so I can redeem my ticket. I'm sorry that my presence is less important than you scrolling on tiktok watching the same old tired content that you view while on the toilet. A greeting would be nice the next time I approach the desk. Or is that outdated in 2024?
I'm only giving 2 stars because the artists did a phenomenal job and once I got past the guy and girl at the front desk I thoroughly enjoyed my time. With that said, I can't recommend going to a place like this. Especially if you take into the consideration of others complaints of it being to easy to zoom through. That's not an issue to me but it may be an issue to you. Customer service sure won't help you understand what these...
Read moreMeh… from videos and pictures I saw online it seemed like it was going to be like a big art museum with tons of different rooms/areas (you know like your typical museum)…. I mean they say to arrive basically 2-3 hours before closing for the “full experience” which I mean… you can see everything in half an hour maybe even less… but I’m assuming the “full” experience is if you buy the add ons which are like scavenger hunt riddles. Theres like 10 rooms? But they are pretty small (like depending on the people a small group of 4-5 would fill them easily). Then there is the “main” area which is huge but makes up the whole thing basically. I mean this is probably for kids so if you bring kids here you could easily spend over an hour here entertaining them. But for an adults? Probably wouldn’t bother.
This is solely based on OUR experience and thoughts. My fiance did find a couple of the rooms kinda fascinating but we were both still disappointed. But because of finding a couple rooms cool we give 2 stars. I personally don’t think charging about $30 for admission is reasonable but I mean they could be donating half of the ticket costs to artists or something I don’t know. The trip to Clearwater Beach afterwards made up...
Read moreWhat began as a fun Sunday family evening ended with a st. pete fairgrounds/floridarama staffer fear-shaming my 8 year old daughter’s and her family’s experience. We were admitted into the establishment around 7 PM tonight - one hour before their closing hour of 8 PM. At approximately 7:35 PM we were locked inside alone. We found an exit sign which opened up into an enclosed and gated construction zone behind their building with no identifiable exit. After many unanswered calls to their posted number we decided we had to find our own way out and squeezed through locked gates and fence openings navigating through large pot/sinkholes and construction hazards to search for our way to any exit. We finally reached the parking lot at the front of their complex and then went to their entrance and additional exiting door at the front which were of course locked early at approximately 7:45 PM. When the remaining staff finally opened the door to address our concerns they were unapologetic and nearly sociopathic in apathy about their mistake: They responded to our request for reimbursement by stating that we paid for entry into the museum but not exiting and would not reimburse us for an...
