These people are TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS (which is a common theme I've read on here for people who go to this business to sell any gold or jewelry )
We were given less than half what our gold was worth ( a little over 500 dollars which also seems to be a common theme 🤔 I guess they believe thats the going rate for ppl who they ASSUME are selling because they are hard up for cash) Plus I also HEARD the "gentleman" when he whispered in the woman's ear who had weighed all our items he said "make them an offer" (obviousely a substantially LOWER offer) when he saw the weight of our gold on the computer screen.
And some of our pieces were worthy of resale also they weren't just scrap gold. But we didn't even get scrap weight not even half.
I WOULD have protested but I really didn't feel like having a debate with my husband over 6 or 7 hundreds dollars ... in front of complete strangers.
Plus it was a cheap lesson to learn to not come here again in the future.
What they DON'T realize though ,, is that just because my husband and I had tattoos ,, doesn't mean we were some run of the mill sellers. (Who should still be treated fairly regardless) But. We own a business in Oregon and we come acrossed ALOT of jewelry and coins in the kind of work we do.
Needless to say , we will NOT be selling anything to this establishment again. I will let all my friends and family know not to use this business either.
P.S We took three pieces from that same jewelry, into a Portland gold buyer and received almost the same amount (just shy of $400 for the 3 items, when we were given just over 500 here ) for literally 10 times the amount of jewelry. Sad. And not a great way to...
Read moreEdit to add: I was an actual customer and I don't appreciate being accused of being "competition". And I can't imagine how this can be fixed months later when I no longer have the gold in question. I brought in a small amount of gold to be tested and sold. Everything was tested, sorted and weighed. They offered me a little over $500 for 34 grams of 14k. I was honestly shocked, double checked what they said and did my own calculations. 14k was worth roughly $36 a gram at that point which would have been a hair over $1.2k and I said as much. To which point the young woman helping me got an attitude and asked me where I got that information. I pulled up live current U.S. gold prices and showed her so she instead said it was because of refining costs. I asked if gold truly lost over half it's value through refining?? Which she said yes, but said she could email their accountant and see what they could do. She asked what I was looking for and I said $1k. She said they couldn't do that but came back with an offer of about $720. I asked to go make a phone call, called American Coin & Gold in Keizer and was offered $850 on the spot. I walked in, told them what I had been offered, grabbed my gold and walked. Ended up with $900 because some of my gold was higher rated than what they told me. A $400 difference is insane, attempting to prey on a first time seller. I felt disrespected and swindled here, I felt heard and respected at American...
Read moreVery friendly staff & very helpful. Justin was fast & I liked the offer I received on my sterling. This day was a five star but not for the one after it.
I went back within a couple of weeks from my last visit expecting the same outcome but instead I did not get that. The girl who helped me wasn't nearly as friendly or nice like Justin had been & I should have listen to my gut & turned down the offer she gave me but I didn't & I'm still regretting it. I brought in 2 sterling rings, a long thick sterling necklace, a sterling brooch, a sterling pendant & 3 sterling earrings & was given only $10. On the invoice/sales receipt there wasn't a weight or description of the items. Only that all sales are final. Again I do not know why I didn't just say no but I'm totally regretting it still to this day & nothing I can do but learn from this mistake, hopefully. I'm too trusting & need to listen to my gut more often. I don't like giving bad reviews but my frustration & anger are still very much alive over that deal. I would recommend working with Justin just not the girl who helped me or should I say the girl who took advantage of me, I wish I could...
