I want to start by saying the only reason I’m not giving a five star is because of , what I assume , is one of the employees there.
This has been sitting with me for days and I usually try to only leave positive reviews but I really don’t want this happening again and would prefer it be taken care of.. and after reading the lower reviews I see it wasn’t only a me thing.
To start off, the selection in the store is beautiful. I got a few crystals last year for my birthday and loved them so much I wanted to stop again this year for my birthday. My boyfriend and I went both days we were visiting Salem and while day one there were kind women helping us and providing all we we were looking for (specifically a ring) and they were knowledgeable and helpful… the second day when we went back to get the ring as nothing we’d seen matched the feeling… we were approached with another (assumed worker) by the register. My assumption of her as a worker was due to her with other workers but if she wasn’t a worker and just a rude customer, then the workers speaking with her were comfortable enough with her (hence the assumption.)
Anyway… when at the register, my boyfriend asked. “Am I doing it or are we using yours” because I use an app called Sezzle which has both of our cards linked and we were figuring it out because the ring is pricey. The woman went “is that even a question?”
To which i immediately expressed to her that he’s paying, dropped a lot of money on me for my birthday and that it really wasn’t her business. I understand this is a long review, but I’m sorry that is disappointing in service. My boyfriend is a gentleman and wasn’t going to say anything to her but there was no way I would allow him to be disrespected or myself, to be honest.
As beautiful as the store is, and their products being beautiful there seems to be a very big issue with their staff and comments being made about customers in the store and I really hope that changes. The energy will always be off if you make your customers feel uncomfortable or disrespect them like that. I still can not understand why it was even stated. Either keep your thoughts to yourself or speak them after. Especially after dropping almost $200 in shop...
Read moreFour of my sisters/best friends and I visited Salem for a girls trip and happened upon the store, ASCEND. We went in to browse their crystal collection and ended up making some lovely purchases. We all agreed it was one of the most beautiful stores with such a palpable, positive energy flowing through it!! We attribute such light and peaceful energy not only to the crystals, but also to the energy workers, mediums, and psychics working in the store. We made an appointment to do a group reading with Ellen and we can EASILY say it was the highlight of our entire weekend. Ellen's gift is so pure and true and our experience with her is one that I still cannot stop thinking about and sharing with others. Some of us who had never had a reading before were a little bit anxious, but Ellen instantly calmed our nerves with her lovely energy and notable compassion and love for sharing her gift with others. The entire experience was positive and ABSOLUTELY life-altering. Loved ones who had passed on came through for each of us and Ellen was able to share some very comforting messages from them in such an articulate and loving way. We all shed a lot of tears but our tears came from a place of relief, joy, and an overwhelming feeling of protection and closeness to our loved ones on the other side. Some of the things mentioned in our reading were SO specific and personal, we were blown away. It was like Ellen knew us our entire lives and had watched us each grow up. Ellen's ability to channel spirits is a true gift and it has given each of us so much peace and comfort about things in our life that had been worrying us or on our mind. I personally cannot wait to go back and get another reading from Ellen one day. Her warm presence and kindness was as meaningful as the reading alone. Please visit Ellen - you will walk away with a calm you've never felt before and hopefully a visit from a loved one.
Thank you again, ASCEND and Ellen! We can't wait to come back! Thank you for giving us a memory to last a lifetime, a comforting experience to share with our family and friends, and so much...
Read moreI was at ASCEND this past weekend with a girlfriend because it was recommended to us. We decided to do our AURA reading and the whole thing just felt so off. We were immediately asked for our credit card to pay for our pictures and then quickly escorted to a small back room. The girl taking our photo was super bubbly and friendly and once that was done they told us to go back to the shop and wait until our Polaroid developed. Once it was ready, the girl came back and told us to follow her back to the photo room. This is where it went completely sideways. The girl started going over my friends picture, (standing in the doorway even though there is a table and chairs to sit at btw) all while someone had brought another 2 people into the room. The couple were in there talking which was distracting and rude to the 3 of us. There was no privacy and it just felt inappropriate to me as a paying customer that they wouldn't give us privacy or keep the other people outside of the room for someone else's reading. My reading was next. It felt super rushed and uncomfortable. The girl even mentioned the same exact traits in the photo as my friend and our colored auras in the photo were not even similar colors at all. We left very unhappy and decided to stand outside to just go over our experience and take a selfie. The girl doing our reading obviously felt guilty and came outside to find us and apologize to us. As we walked around the rest of the trip, we saw this happen to several other people but it was in the entryway to the shop. It is so inappropriate to not have a private spot for readings when you are charging $45-60 for a photo and a few minutes of time. I would not Recommend going here unless you want to be treated like they only want your money and don't care about the quality of your visit because sadly, our experience seemed to be the "norm"...
