Salem Computer — Local services in Salem

So Friday I Called to get an estimate on replacing my disc laser in my Xbox series x. It stopped reading discs. (I had already bought a brand new one just needed to be installed) They told me it would probably be two weeks till I could get it replaced cus they are so backed up. The guy I talked to said it would be 150$ to replace it. & asked me if it would even be worth it to do it…. Well considering a new console goes for around 400$ I’d say it would def be worth it. Idk what he was trying to get at…. but I watched a few videos on YouTube and this part takes less than an hour to replace. I would have done it myself but I was scared I’d mess something up. Needless to say they are overcharging people. I ended up taking it to Valley Computer Sales and Service here in Salem they replaced it the same day and called me a hour after dropping it off & ended up charging me 75$. If your thinking about using this place please reach out for a second opinion I’m sure they do good work but come on 150$ for something that takes 30-45 minutes that’s way...

I took my gamin laptop to Salem Computer as it was pretty close to my job. I was not sure what to expect but I met Jacob and he explained the pricing and the process. He was able to look parts up right then and there to give me a rough idea on costs.

He sent me text messages with progress updates. He was friendly and had a lot of knowledge. He called me about a week later and said everything was repaired. Everything works SO WELL. I am so happy with his customer service, knowledge and communication.

I have already told those around me about them so they could use Salem Computer in the future.

I called Salem Computer with an urgent need for a new computer at work. Jacob answered the phone and responded immediately. We received exceptional service and advice for our needs. He understood exactly what we would need as a replacement and even allowed us a lender. We now have our new computer installed. We use a program that cuts lettering and images in vinyl on a plotter...an old plotter. It has never worked better or faster. I will use Salem Computer for all of our computer needs and you should, too....
