I never road the bus here but this place has horrible services. My sister called this bus station to order a ticket because the online services where not working and when she finally got a ticket bought she was given a confirmation number that her ticket was ordered but when I go to drive her all the way down to Salt Lake, which by the way I had to drive her twice up and down where I live and it's an hour drive over there, we get there at the register to pick up my sisters ticket and she was told here ticket was canceled and the money was refunded back in her bank. You got to be kidding me!......So we ask can we buy another ticket because the money should be back in the bank if they refunded the money. It wouldn't go through. So we get back in the care call the customer service and they tell us that they're allowed to cancel the card whenever they believe it was fraud. Yet they never notified us or even sent an email that the canceled the order when they specifically gave us a confirmation number that the ticket was ordered. And on top of that the money wouldn't be refunded back into the bank for 14 or more days. We needed the money now not later and we couldn't wait for another two weeks to be able to order another ticket. So basically this station is telling me they can cancel my ticket whenever they feel like it and never notify me of it. Man they where rude. And we called the bank and the station three times to be sure the ticket was in place. They can at least notify the purchaser that there is no ticket so I don't drive all the way down to Salt Lake and find I...
Read moreAh, Salt Lake City. I had never witnessed your underbelly.
First things first this is the only stop between Portland and Denver that everyone is required to get off at. So, they do check your bags, though not as thoroughly as an airport. Be aware.
Well, the station itself wasn't terrible. The bathrooms were actually pretty clean (don't use the water fountains, Utah tap water in the valley is pretty horrible), the security was very good and the floors weren't terribly sticky. There was a lot of seating but the only food vending machine was broken with no sign saying so, the vending machine coffee seemed even more watered down than usual, and the claw game was also, you guessed it, broken.
I decided since we had a two hour layover here to take my daughter a couple blocks down the street for some food. Not my greatest idea. Going towards the Rio or whatever that little mall is called is insane! Actually saw people openly shooting up on the street, though once they saw I had a child with me they scattered a bit and those we did encounter seemed very friendly. So, drug use abounds within yards of this stop, but they are very friendly drug users. Still wouldn't give them a dime or interact with them in any way, and highly recommend that you eat either before this stop or after, as it's probably for the best you stay inside...
Read more0 stars would be too good. I'm talking heroin, crack, etc.....in the bathroom bring used and sold. People passed out next to the toilets and in the stalls for countless hours at a time. Homeless folks coming in repetition asking for the same things and not even thankful for what you've given them. Security guards in several locations that could care less about what's going on around them. The staff treating EVERYONE like their homeless even though you're just off the bus with several bags. Constant harassment/yelling/awoken by kicking, affirming you're wrong and have nothing/heckling visitors/ making fun. Nothing works. Urinals didn't flush. No atm and you can't even walk around to find one. Keep your bags close or on you at all times. Theft should be expected here, because it will happen. After 8 pm there's only one security guard and the homeless/addicts population doubles and they start to come inside. Be very careful, as they will try to scam you and security will not care. Constant stalking of my wife and i from addicts. Never again. And never SLC. And never greyhound,...
