(They Stole my money!!) It’s was my first time ever coming to this place and the service was horrible and it was about 8 when I went to have dinner with a friend and they were gonna close at 9:30 I’m upset they didn’t tell me ahead of time that there gonna close soon so I can come back on a better day where there was more time but no they just seated us the food was good but sad I can’t try the other soups and for the server he was nice but didn’t do his job well but we asked him a question if the all you can eat the is the price for each person and he said yes and we was okay with that and we wanted more water but he was quick to give us the check, idk why he gave us a discount grateful but not necessary and were we was seating you can see that he was just there on his phone and he would come back to check on us and you can obviously see my cup and my friends cup is empty and he didn’t even offer to give us more and mind you they were about to close they didn’t give me excellent service when I’m a paying customer no matter the time I felt rushed basically got kicked out so I just told my friend let’s just leave and I wanted to take my food home and he lied saying they didn’t have to go containers when they know damn well they do he just didn’t wanna do his job and then it came to pay why was he so complicating/confused it’s was one phone two different apps and he wasn’t getting it and so I just paid the rest and i didn’t I wanna leave a tip because I was upset on how we were treated and i didn’t get to take my food home no he didn’t deserve that tip and when like my service I tip really good and so the next day I get charged a $12 tip and I was even more upset because at that point they stole money from me and that’s not okay giving a tip is optional I called them expecting to get my money back that they stole just to not get it back I’m so upset I’m NEVER coming back to this place again when the...
Read moreMy husband and I were visiting and wanted something less heavy for lunch. We were so happy that the area had a shabu restaurant. The staff was really friendly for a our first visit there. Our server was super nice and gave us some recommendations in regards to ordering.
When we were all ordered up for our appetizers, broth, and meat choices, we were able to head to the salad bar. The salad bar does allow you to make a salad but it's a bit more than that, it allows you to grab some ingredients to add to your broth such as different kinds of noodles, vegetables, and sauces.
After returning to our table, our hot pots were boiling, ready for our ingredients. I went with ramen noodles, spinach, baby corn, onions, a hard-boiled egg, and tteabokki. I also grabbed garlic, green onions, and two sauces (I wish I could remember the names - they were so good to dip the meat choices in).
For those who are new to hot pot restaurants, Mr. Shabu is a place where you get to experiment and create your own delicious soups. And the buffet-style meat selection were delicious. My favorite thing to do is place the meat in the hot pot then pulling them out after it's cooked out and placing it the sauce to cool down and soak up the deliciousness before eating. If your not careful, you can burn your tongue if your too eager to eat your cooked food from the broth. So don't forget to let it sit a bit to cool down.
The only thing that I wish this shabu restaurant had was white rice. The shabu restaurants I've been to in California will often include a small bowl of rice to go with your meal. I would definitely come back here if I visit SLC again. Highly recommend trying shabu shabu restaurants...
Read moreWhen I say I love to come here I mean it. It's a bit expensive however it's definitely worth the money because of how fresh and good and delicious and all the options that you have not only for sushi but hot pot as well. I will admit the service is good however it could be better but with it getting so packed very quickly when it becomes a certain time in the night I understand. The environment is very trendy and very nice to be in I even like the small bar stools seating that they have for singles it's a very great vibe. They're waiting area is a little small for their impact audience but I'm glad they get you to put your number at the front so they text you so you don't have to wait in their small lobby. They don't take same-day reservations which is a little odd but I do understand what the capacity that they'd have This place is no means small however it's first come first served at walk-ins no same-day reservations do create complications. The first time I came here I had 10 sushi rolls That's me because I can just eat a lot but they have a very big variety of all you can eat sushi and that is usually what I go for every time I come here and every time it hits just right I highly recommend this place for birthdays and celebrations. The maximum you will spend here is $30 alone per person for all you can eat sushi plus tip. But that $30 price is not including tip. if you come here plan on spending money$$ But this place is expensive for a reason because their sushi is always fresh and the selections and variety that they have is really the bang for your bug highly highly...
