Absolutely dumbfounded that this has such positive reviews. And so many. Must offer some sort of deal in exchange for them.
I went with my girlfriend and it was lackluster at best. If this was like $10-15 a person, maybe it’d be a compelling use of money. But with taxes and fees, it was about $70 for the two of us. Whole thing lasted about half an hour.
Around half the exhibits are just prints on the walls of what you’d find by googling “optical illusions” and scrolling. And the other half are photo ops rather than actually interesting illusions. I really struggled to find more than a small handful of things worth spending time at. It’s mostly just a bunch of mirrors, painfully obvious to figure out “illusions”, and prints of non copyrighted google images.
2 stars for the friendly staff and the 4 legitimate holograms on one wall. Otherwise, absolute cash grab without anything that’s going to wow you. Just a cheaply put together photo op. And the price is obscene. I am filled with regret and wish I had my 70 bucks back.
Only recommend if you’re the type to pretend to have fun so you can take pictures for Instagram pretending to have fun. If that’s you, this is...
Read moreDo not go if you have sensory processing problems. With that out of the way, the museum is really cool! There was 1 or 2 sectioned off pieces, but that can happen with interactive exhibits. Super fun to read about how all the illusions work. The tablets (?) also tell you how to interact with each piece if youre confused. And theres plenty of staff that walk around keeping things clean and explaining exhibits should you still be confused. Expanding on the warning. This place is NOT auditorily sensory safe. There seems to be next to no infrastructure to minimize echoing. And with so many people being amazed and having fun, including children, it can get pretty loud. The echoing also tends to make it hard to understand the employees. Even at the front desk, i could only make out about a third of what was being explained. If you have any problems with audio sensitivities, i would not recommend this place. It's only about an hour to get through everything, but it was draining for me. Very fun place, but do keep that in mind for yourself and...

The Museum of Illusions in Salt Lake City was hands-down one of the most fun and mind-bending experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredible—super friendly, energetic, and so knowledgeable about each illusion. They were more than happy to take photos, offer tips for the best angles, and explain how everything worked. You can really tell they love what they do, and it made the whole visit that much better.
One of the biggest highlights was the Soda Shop Reverse Room—so clever and fun! It felt like stepping into a retro dream that had been flipped upside down. We got some hilarious pictures that had all our friends doing double takes. It’s the perfect mix of nostalgic and surreal.
Whether you’re a tourist or a local, this place is totally worth the visit. It’s interactive, visually stunning, and just an all-around blast. Can’t wait to go back with...
