Just had the most awesome experience at this salon. My stylist disappeared off the grid a month or two ago and having gone to her for the last 10 or so years of my life I was incredibly panicked because my thick Asian hair has a hard time finding a great stylist in little old Utah. I travel a lot for work and have probably had my hair cut in 5 different cities in the past year so needless to say, I have been desperately hoping to find a new salon at home. After two terrible experiences at separate locations on two different occasions at the very overrated Lunatic Fringe I finally stumbled on Nick James.

I called last minute at 2 PM to make an appointment. They were kind enough to inform me it was a pretty full day with only two stylists but they could accomodate me at 3:15. I showed up and they let me know that unfortunately the previous appointment was running very behind so they asked if it would be okay if a younger stylist cut my hair. Not only did Katie do a great job but Nick the owner and Daniel who I was originally scheduled with both stopped by on multiple occasions to check in with us and make sure the appointment was going well and then they were so sweet enough to do the cut for free even though it was totally not their fault that the appointment was behind.

Jouissance is DELICIOUS! I have had many delectable experiences at the salon. Nick James' gift for styling hair is amazing. Nick listens to my hair style desires and delivers above and beyond results. Early this summer, Nick recommended highlights for my hair. I was a bit skeptical that highlights weren't for me, but I decided to try his recommendation and my hair turned out fabulous. My hair looked like honey and glistened in the sunlight. The color and tone enhanced my eyes and made my skin look sugar kissed. Nick also gives great tips on everyday style. He coached me on how to do the perfect blow dry at home which helps me show off the style and color of my hair. Nothing is worse for me than leaving a salon with a gorgeous look that I cannot recreate easily everyday. Nick's hair cuts blow me away. He is a master of minimal scissor work to enhance my look. In addition to Nick's great ability, the salon itself is a wonderful environment. The interior is modern, clean and stylish. It reminds me of being on a cruise ship with unforgettable service. There is free parking conveniently located behind the salon to the north off of 200 east. Another great recent addition to the salon experience is stylist Sebastian. Visiting is was a really great experience. I'd highly recommend this salon. Every time I visit I end up looking, and even more importantly feeling, like a million bucks. Not to mention all the lovely compliments I get over the next days. And it’s just plain fun to hand out with Nick and Mauricio.

Rather than going straight to the cutting, Nick always took some time to talk to me about what I was looking for in a new haircut. It felt like he really cared about making sure I got the cut I wanted, and that would be best for my face shape - not about just getting me done and out the door for the next customer. My hair looked AMAZING once he'd finished the cut. On the second visit he asked how the cut and products were working, to see if there needed to be any changes. The cut had grown out beautifully, which I think is one sign of a great cut. He always tells me what each product he uses is, and why he’s using it.

Nick has extraordinary talent. He then took the time to show me a few styling tricks for my new style, so I could make the most of it. And taught me even more styling tricks the next visit.
