I chose this office to get my Invisalign. I was going to pay the amount in full, half in cash and half by check. Prior to my appointment I called to confirm if they accept checks and I was told they did. I show up to my first appointment and they tell me they donât accept checks and that we could reschedule. I thought rescheduling was fine but inconvenient as I was provided incorrect information. I mentioned a promotional add on whiting service that was offered to me but the treatment needed to start by July. It was already July 28th when I came in so I wanted to make sure if I rescheduled, I would still get the promotion. I was told that it was okay to be seen the 28th but I needed to pay half and once I received my trays to pay the remaining amount. I got my trays today and unfortunately forgot to pay in office so I called to pay by phone. I spoke with Barbara and she asked me to pay a completely different amount than what was agreed upon at my consultation. I did not agree with having to pay more due to the whole check situation which was not my fault. Unfortunately, Barbara couldnât empathize with me and said she couldnât do anything about it. I respectfully told her that I didnât think that it was ethical. She got frustrated and rudely said âI donât have time to argue with you right now, I have more important things to do.â I was shocked because I was having a respectful and professional conversation with her and out of nowhere she gave me a nasty uncalled for attitude. Maybe Barbara was just having a bad day that she couldnât do her job as a manager and be professional with a patient. She ended up agreeing and allows me to pay the original amount but she continued to patronize me till the end of the phone call. I felt horrible and not valued as a patient. This situation couldâve been easily avoided and all I wanted to do was pay the full amount that both parties agreed on. I unfortunately just began my treatment and itâs so uncomfortable that I had to deal with this. It was such a bad experience speaking with Barbara I just hope she doesnât do this to...
Read moreI don't like to leave bad reviews and in fact have not ever! I feel as if I have to share what I learned from my experience. Dr Brian is nice and we thought we had a good experience. Then the big BUT comes! Bad news comes because of my lack of knowledge! First of all, make sure your Orthodontist is willing to work with your dentist and that they communicate. This didn't happen at all! UOC didn't know that they should do more to help my daughters s. We took both our oldest daughters to this office, as I was referred here by a friend. I didn't know the extent of the work that needed done and that maybe my daughters teeth were different and more difficult then the normal patient. I should have gotten a second opinion. My daughters both completed their braces and we were looking into implants. Visually to the untrained eye their teeth are OK but if you talk to a professional about implants then everything was off centered and not lined up (hence your orthodontist needs to work with your dentist). This was terrible and very discouraging as we paid a lot of money for perfectly aligned teeth and that just didn't happen! I sent my girls back to see what could be done and the orthodontist didn't see a problem. That's a red flag! My 2nd oldest is embarrassed by her teeth and needs braces AGAIN to fix issues not taken care of in the first place. When I sent them in UOC again, they wanted to charge me again for braces for my second daughter! This is so wrong and I think this is ethically wrong as we did everything asked. My first suggestion is to get a second opinion before signing on with this office. We didn't receive good care and now have to spend more money elsewhere to fix this. UOC should stand by their work and take care of their patients. Be careful as you decide on an orthodontist as a patient should not have to have...
Read moreIn case you have read the comment recently posted about the racist receptionist here's the true story: she did not call the customer a monkey (she would never ever do something so cruel). She was spelling his name back to him and because it was the first word to come to mind used "monkey" in place of the m's. An honest mistake that anyone could make and she felt horrible when she found out he had interpreted it as a racist joke. Also the review that was referred to saying she treated customers in the past like this is not about her. She didn't work there when that review was made. But I'm sure the guy knew she wasn't being racist as he left out all these details, adding some very untrue details of his own. I'm sure he would be pleased to know she was fired. I strongly believe in standing up for what is right and racism should always be met with severe consequences. However, it is incredibly unfair and hurtful to give such a heavy label to someone who did not earn it. As for the employers you have lost a hardworking, kind, and genuine employee. After what I've heard and seen her go through I certainly wouldn't refer anyone to this place who can't even give their own employees the benefit of the doubt or defend them when it is the right thing to do.
*I know larissa very well, her words were taken completely out of context. I am 100% confident she was treated unjustly both by the customer accusing her and the employers. He will say whatever he needs to in order to feel okay with costing a good person her job. I know exactly what happened and added details will not change the truth. The damage can't be undone, she already felt awful and losing the job only added...
