I have always been an advocate for Men’s Warehouse in the past. My last suit was purchased @ a location in Orange County CA. One of the reasons why I choose Men’s Warehouse is because of their corporate standards of quality and excellence. As a matter of fact, the suit I bought 4 years ago still looks like new after wearing it 150+ times over the years. Every corporation has standards. When standards are not followed, it is usually because of sub mediocre employees. This store definitely does not bring honor to the brand.
About a month ago, I walked in to buy/order accessories for my wedding. I was looking for a specific color to match my shoes. As I talked to one of the multiple employees who were standing around and not being productive, I was immediately dismissed, “No, we don’t have anything like that.” I reply, “Would it be possible to order something close to that color?” Their response, “No, never saw anything like that on the web site.” I highly doubt he ever even looked on the website for that particular color. I’m beginning to think-It’s not that he can’t, he just doesn’t want to make the effort.
Of course, I move on, and use another local company to fill my needs. The day before my wedding, I walked into the store. Prior to having an employee approach me, I took a quick walk around the tie section, and actually saw a necktie and matching handkerchief that would have gone perfectly with my shoes. My main purpose for coming in was to find a collar extender. Much to my surprise, they don’t even have those in stock. So much for staying on top of inventory. Even Wal-Mart and Whataburger make sure they order what they need. As a consolation, they give me a complimentary plastic collar extender.
Just as this store is about to save face, the complimentary extender doesn’t even work properly. It’s the hottest Saturday of the month, I have a tight collar, and doing everything I can to remain calm. This store has sabotaged not only the MOST important day of my life, but my perception and view of this...
Read moreI, like the average person, usually don't rent tuxedos except for special events, but I wear and purchase suits as part of my profession. And in those instances of purchasing suits, I usually purchase from Nordstrom Rack of Off Saks 5th for designer suits at bargain prices. But In this case, I had to come to Men' Wearhouse to rent a tux or my cousin's wedding since I'm the best man. I'm absolutely appalled at the exorbitant prices this place charges for horrible quality and poorly fitted tuxedos! It is such a racket! I even asked the lady working the tuxedo area about getting it tailored for me months before the wedding, but she said they just use generic sizes and built in pull tabs on the waist. No tailoring allowed! If that's the case, then there is no reason I should pay half the cost of a well fitted, premium quality suit that I could own just to rent the tux for 1 night!! Of course I rented it for the wedding to make my cousin happy, but that's obviously the deceitful business model the Mens Wearhouse employs: take advantage of people who know nothing about suits and tuxes, get them to commit for their event, and force the entire wedding party to rent at prices that the store breaks even (or perhaps profits) on the first rental. Then, it's all upside for them from there. Obviously, its a profitable business model, but disproportionately benefits the store, not the customer. So (you may have already guessed), I will NOT be giving them any business in the future, and I will inform everyone to stay away from here. Go somewhere that will really value your business, and really be interested in making you and your wedding party look sharp, for...
Read moreIt started off good but when I went to pick up some clothes didn't fit. as well as another groomsman. This was difficult because the rental pick up is 2 days before the wedding. They ordered another pair of pants for us and said they'll call tomorrow when they arrived. We never got a call. So we went In person and the pants didn't show up, one person said they were never ordered. SO the person helping us assured us the pants are now ordered 1 day before the wedding and he will personally call us when they arrive also gave us his number. we waited around the day of the wedding and never got any calls and the number we were told to call didn't ever pick up. We went in person AGAIN, this is a few hours before the wedding, the person who made us all the promises wasn't even there and the pants for both of us also weren't there. They said they should arrive anytime so we sat around on hold for another 3 hours and finally called and got ahold of someone at the end of the "arrival time" they never came. This was extremely disappointing, Trying to set up a wedding and everything else that comes with it while wasting so many hours on trying to get proper fitting clothes was the last thing we should of had to deal with. They get some extra stars because when the pants finally came someone drove them personally to the venue. So thank you for that. But the team and the process...
