They dont deserve one star! We put a deposit down on an apartment for my son and his service dog to move into on Memorial Day. Olivia Workman, the manager of sorts, said to call her the week before to finalize the move in details. The complex is under a major remodeling but she promised this apartment would be ready. I called and she said she was just returning from vacation but would be in the office the next morning. I called the next morning. No answer. In fact, I have called every morning for a week 1/2! I have left texts, called the office snd left messages. No returned calls from anyone. No one in the office. Finally it was move in day. We live out of town as does my son. He loaded up and we met at the apartment in hopes that things might work out. We had no other option since my sons job started the following morning. As I should have known, no one was in the office. We went down to the apartment thinking maybe they left a note on the door. Nope. In fact the apartment was still a mess. It would take a week to finish it at least. So far we have had to spend money on a storage room for my sons furniture, a hotel for a week for my son and his dog, and a deposit that was literally cashed the same day (according to my bank statement). I have tried daily to reach someone, ANYONE! If you are looking for an apartment in this area, look anywhere but at the Parker Broadway. You dont want to go through the same frustration and financial loss. Im hoping they get in touch with me because I am making it my mission to get the word out. Having friends work for WOAI News 4, doing the Troubleshooter stories might be the next step. After what my son had to deal with, this might be...
Read moreI moved into The Parker in August of 2019 and before moving in I had many in-depth conversations with the property manager Courtney about what to expect while the complex was undergoing renovations. It's been under construction since I got there and there are things that continuously pop up but Courtney has always made sure to notify me via email, phone or in-person about them.
I moved in knowing that the renovations would take time. Although there have been delays, the parts of the complex that are complete like the pool, lobby, gym and entry/driveway are all beautiful and reminiscent of Palm Springs. During the warmer months, we were at the pool almost every weekend. The property maintenance staff cleans the common areas daily and the staff and management are very friendly to residents and guests of the on-site Airbnbs. The mid-century aesthetic of the complex can also be seen inside the apartment. New white appliances and white granite countertops. Valet trash and an on-site laundry room are nice perks. And there's a small dog park if you are a dog owner like me!
The affordability of the rent and the location of The Parker make being patient through the construction worth it. It's not a large complex, so it's mostly peaceful and quiet, management gets to know you and you can actually meet your neighbors. The Parker is right down the street from Broadway which offers restaurants, parks, quick access to the highways and is only a few minutes away from the San Antonio Riverwalk and Historic Pearl.
I love living...
Read moreI lived there for a year and it was terrible. They only care about getting you to lease and then forget about you. We had multiple maintenance requests that were never taken care of since the day we moved in. We basically moved in to an unfinished apartment since the beginning. They also said construction would be done December 2017 and it is still not close to being done. The apartment itself has a moldy smell that they "cannot fix". There is also no central air in any of the apartments, so you can't control the temperature when it's hot or cold, it just circulates the air. They "accommodate" by adding an ac unit outside the front window. During the year I lived there, the water was shut off multiple times without notice. The whole apartment complex went 2 days without water last year when they said it would only be 2 hrs. The laundry room is also disgusting. There is no place to park besides the street and even had my truck broken into. It is also too overpriced for the terrible quality inside the actual apartment. They will never answer the phone because they are never in the office and will take forever to respond to emails. To sum it up,...
