DECEMBER 2018
Connors Steak & Seafood, Gulf Center Drive, Ft. Myers, Fl. Here is my 2 cents on the food and chatter.
WOW...OUTSTANDING....
The only thing I hate about this place is it is TOO far to drive from Cape Coral.
I was here for a self deserved birthday lunch...
I was served fresh hot bread with a wonderful side of garlic infused olive oil.
I got a medium rare, of course prime rib with a creamed spinach side.
Lets not forget my lobster bisque.
Service was as always top notched. And as a birthday gift...strawberry pound cake and ice cream.
You know this place is GRAND.... empty on my arrival full when I leave.
I HATE CHAINS EATERY...BUT...THIS IS MY ONE EXCEPTION
WOW ! I was so surprise as to how great this place was for us. We stopped in on a Saturday 3PM. My wifey just landed from San Francisco and we needed to splurge for my birthday.. We were greeted warmly and seated in a great location. The place was about 1/3 filled.
First our waitress ,Vanessa, was a idiot savant ( in an outstanding way) This wonderful gal was able to remember EVRYTHING about our orders. She did this without writing anything down on a pad / pencil. PLUS with absolutely NO mistakes.
This was the FIRST and only bar since living in SW Florida that knew and was able to bring me my drink of choice, a Brandy Separator, WOW!
The bread was served warm with a spicy of sorts olive oil. mmmmmmmmmm. The appetizer's of Lobster dip & fried mushroom were perfect. Mushroom burnt our tongue and side dip was very tangy. ahhhhhh
Salads were chilled and just the right size, including the correct amount of dressing.
AHHHH MMMMM the main entrée. We both had the prime rib medium rare. The only way a REAL carnivore should eat it. Any thing above that YOU ARE A IDIOT. (This means 95 % of Floridians fall in to this category, LOL).
The beef was so tender that you could almost cut it with a fork only. MMMMMMMMM it was heaven. The baked potato and garlic mash potato was smile worthy.
Over all a 5 star experience. It equal a steak house in San Francisco. And just blew away the Shula place in ,Naples.
2nd visit.......Well, The snowbirds have found this place. I needed to wait 15 minutes for a table.
Michael was my server.. Did a great job. Food was delivered in a timely manner. Cooked to perfection. Saw our previous server, Vanessa .She remember us. Had a manager stopped by the table. My experience here has been OUTSTANDING.
My wife had the lunch item of a $10.00 prime rib sandwich & mac/cheese. A great value and deal. Me the ever good prime rib dinner. A must have for me.

To begin with, we arrived around 5pm on a Friday we were told that there was no seating available inside until around 7pm. However they were quick to seat us outside with warm smiling faces. The nice young lady at the front swiftly escorted us outside where we were pleasantly surprised! They had very nice booth like seating outside in a covered area with high powered fans that kept us cool. Our server SKYLAR came quickly to take our drink and appetizer order with a beautiful smile and lovely energy. She was very knowledgeable about the meanu and easily helped us navigate our options. She could have sold us on anything! She used great descriptive words to help us understand the complex flavors with the steak enhancements. YOU WILL NOT FIND STEAKS LIKE THIS ELSEWHERE IN LEE COUNTY. When Skylar described the delectable steaks sold here she really captured the essence of flavor and texture. We never had to ask for drink refills or a box for extras, She had everything covered. She even brought out something to our table to ward off any Flys that may want our delicious steaks. It was a black box with a string that goes in circles like a helicopter.. never seen anything so cool! Now on to the good stuff.. when I tell you the service here is phenomenal I mean really superb. Once we ordered our starters and food everything came out very quickly but in a nice sequence that was not overwhelming. The food was hot and tasted fresh, we were mmm mm mmming with every bite! Each course we got was packed with flavor and intention. The prices were fair for the quality and quantity of food served. We had the battered button mushrooms and lobster dip for starters, I got a ribeye with the boursine cheese and tobacco onion topping which was to die for.. I got the fire roasted creamed corn on the side and the lobster and crab bisque. My partner got the espresso dry rub ribeye with Oscar blue crab lump and hollandaise sauce, asparagus and truffle deviled eggs. To finish we had the absolute hands down best dessert! Créme Brulé topped with fresh raspberries.. if that's the best dessert I've ever had ill have to come back and try their other desserts next time! 10 out of 10 all the way across the board. Best date night ever ❤️ Skylar made our experience here and we appreciate all her kindness, knowledge and care. She knows what shes doing! Phenomenal food...

Fast forward to my early Birthday dinner 8/8.. Keep in mind my parents having been dining here for over 20+years, and this was the first time a celebration was below our expectations and below what we have experienced previously at Connors. 1st issue: we reserved table 51, the host took us to 53. Not good. She did ask to switch us to 51. Okay, fine. 2nd issue: no card on the table signed by staff, as per usual when there is a celebration of Birthday, anniversary, etc. 3rd: Our waiter, Jay, was dry, cold, and somewhat polite, however, his service was poor and not attentive to us. We had to ask for bread after we received and began having appetizers. We had to ask Mgr Ron to remove dirty dishes and the 3 menus we had, which is not Ron's job. Fortunately, we recognize a few previous waitres/waitresses, one who recognized us as well, HEY SKYLAR, and she asked how our service was going. We did let her know, and we gather something was said to Jay, either from Ron and/or Skylar because Jay's was demeanor changed - he smiled, came back to check on us, and even struck up a conversation. Jay did improve. Now, lastly, I had the worse cut of prime rib EVER! Very fatty, barely any meat, small portion. I wanted to take the picture from the fridge of what I ended up bring home. And, yes, I did eat the corner that had the less fat. Overall, the appetizers- fried green tomatoes, Korean BBQ ribs, and Blue pointe oysters were phenomenally tasty! My parents had the Halibut and Oscar Chilean Sea Bass which did not disappoint! And the strawberry shortcake with homemade strawberry ice-cream topped of the dinner for us perfectly. Almost made up for the horrible steak, but not really! Overall experience 3.8, and I regret choosing Connors for my Birthday celebration. PS We miss Lisa! She would have managed things a little better, and I know for a fact, Lisa would have made sure there was a card on the table we requested to reserve, and the quality of food would have been superb, especially the Prime rib! We missed you, Lisa!!! Service is not the same when you are...
