Back glass broken. Have apple care plus. Local Store closed for renovation so apple support recommended Best Buy to fix. Drove 20 mins to Best Buy (Estero) but part not in stock and would have to order in 3-5 days. Says that apple doesn’t send them a lot of supplies and is “stingy” with parts . Rescheduled with closer Best Buy (fort Myers) who then told me they neither have the part and if I wanted the part they would have to keep my device for 3-5 days as collateral in order to purchase the part because that is the contract Best Buy has with apple. Obviously I’m not leaving my phone with anyone for 3-5 days. Called apple support who said my only option besides paying $99 for a replacement was to schedule at the next nearest Apple Store (waterside) which is 1hr from me. Asked if they could verify they had the part before the road trip and the rep gave me the store phone number so that I could call to check inventory. Local number was rerouted to off site support rep who was not in store but said she could call the store but they would probably not tell her if it was in stock because they were not sure of my devices problem although two Best Buy reps told me the back needed to be replaced. Support rep patched me in to the store (waterside Naples, Fl) who said the same thing and could not guarantee the fix when I came in for my app. Arrived at my 4pm app at 3:50 and the employee said there was no app and turns out the rep who scheduled it scheduled it for the wrong store but somehow patched me into the waterside location for the aforementioned phone call. Waterside was able to see me at 4pm. They had the part but could not fix the phone same day because there were already too many to fix. They offered to keep the phone or come back tomorrow and I refused to drive another 2 hours to and from this store. I mentioned my frustration with this process to fix such a common issue even with paying for apple care plus as well as having to talk to 6 different apple reps about my issue and driving all over southwest Florida. The apple genius then was able to authorize a replacement device for my troubles which was very satisfying. I have a bad taste in my mouth about my experience and hope that no one has to endure the same. Apple, make this process easier if you’re going to make glass-backed phones that break easily....
Read moreThis review is not a direct experience but an issue I had to unravel for my 79 and 82 year old parents, happy they used my Best Buy membership for their purchase.
Going to start this off with warning anyone who enters this store to stay away from Bob in TV sales. Parents went in store happy to purchase any of the days seasonal door busters. Bob told them they don’t want any of those and pushed them to a 2023 Sony stated it was the current option from Sony. While asking questions and trying to determine their best options based on needs, and available income spent my mother asked the same question three times (1. Being in her later years sometimes misses things because of her hearing, and 2. With people playing on the soundbars was having trouble hearing Bob) instead of rephrasing or being polite Bob asked her how many times is she going to ask the same question.
Luckily I was emailed a copy of the receipt because Bob added 5 year Geek Squad coverage, and in home setup items that everyone knows are a scam and when talking with my parents about stated they had no idea about the 5 year coverage plan, but were told the in home setup was needed to assist with Comcast getting their cable box right. Hey Bob, all that is needed to connect a cable box is putting the HDMI cable in, no calls to Comcast needed.
Through further conversation learned Bob conned my parents into a Best Buy card telling them there is a 10% discount for applying and using the card. As any of us who shop Best Buy we know there is not a direct discount but added membership points for using your Best Buy card.
I am beyond pissed to think there are people like this taking advantage of people never mind elderly people. Bob should be terminated for these actions, but if not ask for someone with integrity to assist you when shopping at Best Buy...
Read moreThe workers are misenformed and they mislead me into wasting my time. I had an issue with my MacBook and brought it to this store because they are supposedly an Apple authorized store, but when I went there they offered no assistance because I didn’t have an appointment with geek squad, which isn’t the problem. They told me my best bet was to go to a different Best Buy. They advised me to go to Best Buy in Gulf Coast Town center, so they set me an appointment to go there. I rushed there because I need to find someway to fix my laptop, but it turns out that the Best Buy at Gulf Coast isn’t Apple Autherized, so they completely wasted my time, and it gets worse from this point on, but it no longer has to do with this store anymore. The store in gulf coast told me that I can go to an Apple autherized store that has an opening, and the only one was off Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, FL. It was a fairly long drive to this store, but I needed my laptop fixed( keep in mind nobody has even taken a second to even open my laptop). After I quickly rushed to the next Best Buy I was completely furious to find out that they can’t help me at all. All they can do is ship out my laptop. I’m glad at least they gave me the option to ship it out because no other Best Buy store, especially this one even gave me an ounce of help. Sadly, I need my computer badly for school, so a week long shipping process isn’t going to work, but I had to drive to three different locations just to find out I couldn’t have my MacBook fixed after spending easily over $1000 at Best Buy to get it. Absolutely horrible service to a valuable customer. I will never shop here again and will advice everyone I know to to shop elsewhere. NEVER BUY A APPLE PRODUCT...
