We visited tonight for the first time. And unfortunately had a terrible experience. We began by being seated at a booth and nobody came to take in order or greet us. After several minutes we had to ask someone passing if they could get a server for us. Colleen came to our table and she was very kind. However, I believe that our table was not in her section, so we didn't see very much of her and had to wait long periods for things. We were brought bread after being there for about half an hour, and when we asked for some more bread, it was brought to us and the rolls were frozen inside. We asked a passing server who was not our server to please bring us different bread. And she took the roles, but never came back then. We eventually saw our server and told her and she got us another basket of bread. It was my daughter's birthday and there was four of us and three people wanted to order a glass of wine. The server suggested we order a bottle and we agreed and the bottle. She brought us was not something that anyone liked, so she suggested another bottle and everyone agreed. What we didn't know and didn't ask to our detriment, was how much that bottle was. This is a bottle of wine that sells for twenty five dollars in a store and we were charged seventy dollars for it. All ordered our entrees and three of us ordered a dish with risotto in it. All 4 meals came out and the food was cold and the three dishes with risotto contained uncooked risotto. The food was not even warm, but cold. This was surprising because the restaurant was not busy or full by any means. The server very kindly took the food back and came back to tell us that the chef agreed that the food was cold. She brought the food back out a short time later, and it was only slightly warmer, and the risotto was absolutely crunchy and raw in all three orders. By this point I just wanted to leave. We had already been there for an hour and a half, and we were all very dissatisfied. At no time, did a manager come to the table. The chef actually came out of the kitchen and was within three feet of our table getting a drink and didn't bother to ask if everything was okay. The server apologized and took one of the entrees off the check. I'm still so angered by this whole incident last night. The fact that the management of the restaurant didn't care enough to make a table visit theres no excuse. . You can go to a restaurant and get a $10 burger and a manager will come by your table just out of a routine visit. I just can't understand why at $40 an entree and $70 for a bottle wine our issues there weren't significant enough to rate a visit or even comped meals. I definitely...
Read moreI will start first by saying that we have gone to fresh catch bistro on Fort Myers Beach numerous times and always had a wonderful experience. This is typically my restaurant choice for my birthday every year. This year for my birthday, we decided to go to fresh catch inland. It was an awful experience… I hate to say.
The dinner I usually get there is the pecan encrusted cranberry Grouper. It is always so amazing! However… At this restaurant, it was overcooked and I’m not even sure if they were cranberries or pecans on it. The presentation was less than stellar, the fish was way overcooked and rubbery. And… It was lukewarm at best. I couldn’t even eat it. I picked at some of it and the server never questioned it. I typically will say something, but just didn’t want to create a negative vibe on my birthday. My husband also got blackened grouper, and his fish was also overcooked and barely warm. Our appetizer, brussels sprouts, could have been good, but they were burnt.
We made reservations for an early dinner at 4 o’clock. The restaurant called my husband that morning to confirm our reservation and asked if it was a special occasion. He told them it was my birthday and they responded with they would like to make it special. What is funny about this is that they didn’t recognize that it was my birthday at all, which would have been fine. But while we were sitting there eating, they actually called us to ask why we missed our reservation and if we were still planning on coming. So not only did they not make it special, they didn’t even know we were there!
I’m so disappointed because I was hoping that this restaurant would be of the same caliber and quality as the bistro, but a little closer for us. The restaurant itself is nice and the atmosphere is fine. Too bad the food and the service weren’t at the same level.
Based on our experience, we would not return to fresh catch inland.
We spent $200 on a less than mediocre meal only to come home that night and have to get something to eat...
Read moreOkay, I'm sure they have been waiting for my experience to be posted. Well here it is. I went to dinner here with friends from out of town. Drinks took like forever and were watered down. Okay, they brought out better ones after a complaint, so they get a pass on that. Everyone ordered. I wanted a Cheeseburger and wife got the grouper sandwich. About 10 to 15 minutes in the waiter said to me sorry, but we are out of cheese burgers, can I get you something else? Woah, out of cheeseburgers, huh. I just saw one carried out to the bar area just before I ordered. That's when the real story came out. I asked for the manager and he said "he was sorry but he pushed the wrong button on the computer" so no burger for you (me). I got a bit irate as I don't like to be lied to, plus my friends food will be out and we wouldn't be eating at the same time. I asked if they were out of ground beef, cheese and a bun. He said no, we have that but "I pushed the wrong button". He said "I wouldn't listen to him". Hey how about listening to me. I'm the paying the customer. I mean all he had to do was to walk back into the kitchen and tell the cook to make this guy a burger. Than it would be all over, done. You know, if I was the the owner or manager I would have said come back and I'll give you a free drink or 20% off your next dinner or something. No it was more like, hey, that's the way she goes, bye bye. Friends said the food was so so. I didn't get to eat so I can't comment. It was the worst experience I've had at a restaurant ever, that I can remember. Special thanks to the greeters. They seemed sympathetic and were very nice. They get a A+. The manager gets an F. I never got to speak to the owner, but I'm sure he won't be thrilled after...
