If I could put 0 I definitely would. I visited this store 4/11/2021 at about 5:15 PM. I had visited this location a few years back and was really looking forward to being here once again. I live a couple of hours away from San Diego. The closest Barnes & Noble to me is in Yuma AZ. My daughter, myself, and my friend that was with me during this visit enjoy visiting other Barnes & Noble locations. It seems since the moment we got there we were targeted. We were not the only people in the store. There were plenty of others. The only difference was that we looked or dressed a certain way that one of the clerks decided to stereotype us based on our race and target us. I felt very uncomfortable and after countless times of saying no I donāt need help. She calls her manager over on the headset. My friend was already uncomfortable and said she was going to pay because of how this person was being towards her and the kids. The manager then comes and ask if I need anything. I said no. I was beyond annoyed and felt like they were just hovering behind me checking for me not to steal something. I wonder where I was going to stuff the boxes I had...?I went towards register but decided that I donāt need to spend my money at a place where I am being made to feel this way. I left things on the counter I then told my child to leave the books she wanted. I have no need to tolerate it. I can aways order online without the unpleasant experience. The manager over heard as I talked to my child and then said she didnāt want me to leave unhappy after her employee then her made our experience there so unpleasant. After they made us feel unwanted! How can you fix that? I will never again visit that location. Iām sure Iām not the first person this has happened to. Just too many people decide not to speak up! I know how to read references and find books. I was a librarian many years. Iām Hispanic, dress a certain way, look a certain way but it doesnāt make it right for you to harass me and make me feel unwelcome. We had plenty of money to spend on books and personal growth items but you lost a customerās because of this behavior! Do better! I will never visit that location again! People like that SHOULD NOT be working there! Train your employees to treat customers better instead of making them feel like criminals. Your customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI loved the look of the building, that's what drew me in in the first place. Upon entering I am greeted by a very friendly member of staff who clued me in on some big deals going on throughout the store. I mentioned I was kind of looking for a book, so I was pulled over to the checkout counter where two staff members worked on trying to find me the book I was seeking. While I waited I looked around and found five other books I had been meaning to pick up, and I was pleased to discover that they were part of the sale going on. While they were unable to find the book I was looking for, I still walked away very pleased to have the attempt even made, with a stack of books I am looking forward to cracking their spines. I am definitely going to come back for another stack of books in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's great to see a large book store with a clean bathroom and friendly workers. It was quiet for the most part, aside from some rude people wandering around talking on their phones.
Needs work: they need to contact Google and get the directions corrected. I was coming from Liberty Station and it told me the store was on my left right when I was in front of it on Rosecrans. So I had to go to the stoplight and go back. The parking to the right of the building seemed closer than the gym parking. They gave me a discount on some membership for free this month that included a bag. They used to give folks discounts for free. They had journals, greeting cards, and...
