Where do I eve start with the people who work the front desk? I should have listened to the reviews, totally 100% my fault for having such a poor experience. I booked our stay through Booking.com and that seemed to be their out for providing such poor service. Booking.com is the only wholesale company that is strictly guest pay is very flexible with accommodating guest/hotel experience. I called the hotel to confirm our reservations while I had a free moment while at LEGO land with my kids.... this was about 6 pm and the representative confirmed everything and said everything was good to go despite the fact that no deposit was taken off my card.... only a few hours later I pulled up the Booking.com app to get the address to finally go check in at the hotel for the night and find out reservations were canceled. I found this very strange so I called bay inn again and explained everything to the lady at the other end of the call. She acted as if she had no idea why it was cancelled and advised I call Booking.com to rectify the situation even after I asked her what was my next best step from here? Already familiar with working with wholesale companies I was prepared to book directly through the hotel and pay whatever the rates were for the night. But I went ahead and called Booking.com to find out what was going on as she advised. I was highly upset to find out the hotel had canceled my hotel reservations due to some issue with my card... (same card used to stay one night) what I was upset about was the run around the hotel rep sent me on instead of just flat out telling me what was going on. She works there and obviously knows the hotel policy very well because she all of a sudden knew it and made it a point to repeat it to me multiple times when I called back after speaking with Booking.com. She kept pushing the blame on me and was about to even refuse service to me. I never once raised my voice or used any type of disrespectful verbiage. I simply wanted to know why she sent me on a wild goose chase knowing very well what was going on. She ended it with “FINE ITS MY FAULT ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?! DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER?! 😑 I told her that wasn’t at all what I was looking for and asked to please just check me in as I had two children sleeping in the car and needed to get them to bed. The nights sleep was miserable. Pillow was flat and the mattress was not comfortable one of my kids actually woke up with a sore neck and a headache. I attempted to call front desk in the AM to speak to someone who would help me as the lady the night before had advised me she basically had no power and couldn’t help me... I got similar issues with the young lady who answered my call. She gave me some bs about talking to the lady from the night before but that was all that would happen. But they did allow me to check out early with no penalty... this place is a joke and every review is accurate. I am not one to complain or take reviews at face value but sadly the ones about this said hotel are spot on. The rooms are not clean (found food under the bed) , severely outdated and uncomfortable. Please save yourself the headache and book...
Read moreBEWARE! I stayed here for 11 days, from January 6th to January 17th 2019. During my stay I left the do not disturb sign off of my door on three separate days and my room was not cleaned on any of those days. but they did wake me up one morning when the do not disturb sign was on by knocking very loudly. And then actually ENTERING after I had responded back loudly "sleeping". The airport is very close and the planes are NOISEY in the rooms, day and night. There's no coffee maker in the room or lobby. They nickel-and-dime you for everything they can. I paid $37 in "energy costs" before being allowed to check in. Even though I'd already prepayed online for 11 nights. There are no blankets on the beds, only a thin linen. Big brown stains on those linens. The microwave makes an electronic hum that's unbearable so I had to unplug it. All of this would have been bearable, except after checking out, the hotel charged me $75 for "room damages". I have spoken to one very rude employee as well as the manager, who says there's no proof of the damages but the only person who can remove the charge is the owner, who is only there once per week. ( And wasn't there when I waited till that day of the week to call back). They claim I removed the TV from it's screwed on stand, which I didn't. Two of the attachments looked like they had been tampered with when I arrived, but it didn't affect the TV so I didn't say anything. It was still screwed into the entertainment center when I left. Repeat, I did not touch the tv whatsoever except the remote to turn it on. I have never been charged any damages when staying at a hotel before and I certainly caused no damage to this room.
Update:I finally was able to return to San Diego and speak to the owner in person, because he makes no attempt to return phone calls or update his response. (His 3 week old response to my review says they're looking into it). But they charged my credit card 2 weeks ago... The owner, Luis, is extremely rude said that I must be lying because his own sister-in-law is the one who saw the TV on the floor. Even though she wasn't the first person into the room, it was actually the housekeeper, he said. Seedy, sketchy, scheming. That was the vibe I got. I've included their description of the damages on my receipt, as well as the photo proof of the supposed damage that they provided to me. See for yourself, and wonder if you want to see $75 charges on your debit card after you leave when you didn't do anything.
If it weren't my money on the line I would laugh because the receipt they provided me basically says they charged me $25 for what they thought I did and $50 because they're...
Read moreWe reserved this hotel for the week we were staying in San Diego, but quickly checked out after one night. Other negative reviews mentioned that it was across from a strip joint and that the room's walls were really thin, but they failed to mention that the rooms (at least our room) were downright disgusting. Carpets were old and sticky. Definitely didn't want to walk barefoot on it. The electrical outlet by the door didn't have a cover on it, which was fantastic considering we had two small kids. The room smelled. Pretty sure there was mold growing on the ceiling of the bathroom. The plastic covering the lights over the sink didn't look like it had ever been cleaned. The A/C unit was ancient (worked though). When people walked down the breezeway outside of the room not only would you hear them, but the room's floors would bounce. The room has a refrigerator and a microwave, but they're just free standing right by the door when you walk in (also looked gross). Not really a big deal, but the TV was just an old square tube television. Even the outside was dirty and gross and the staff was not super friendly. We only payed $70 (with tax) for this place, but it was not worth it. Spend the extra money. We ended up booking a "Kid Suite" at the Comfort Inn & Suites in San Diego. It felt like paradise compared...
