I’ve purchased single bouquets from Dave’s Flower Box before. The quality and service in the past had been great and this is why I decided to entrust them with my wedding flowers.
I purchased my order with 3 weeks in advance, after they suggested this would be plenty of time to fulfill the request.
Upon pick up, the flowers were bunched in a black box together with greenery, and they looked fine to me.
My friend’s mother, who graciously took time out of her busy schedule to assist me with the bouquets, was appalled at the poor quality of the flowers after we began to check them.
I think it’s safe to assume they didn’t place my order and gave me what they had in stock. The owner had the audacity to “gift me” more black magic roses. I think he knew half would end up in the trash. I also purchased Gerber Daisies which are known to be delicate; they didn’t even come with protective cups. I ended up with 2 bags of left over flower petals/mulch due to the poor quality of goods. Half of my purchase was completely useless.
These flowers were picked up the Wednesday before my wedding and by Friday most flowers were wilted and dead. I had to run around San Diego trying to find flowers to complete my bouquet and other flower arrangements. I am at a loss for words of how much stress this caused leading up to such an important occasion.

Read moreStopped by Dave’s Flower Box in North Park to pick up some long stem roses. The staff was super friendly and seemed to know their stuff, which I appreciated. The roses were listed as $5 each, so I handpicked a few—but here’s where it got interesting. Apparently, two of the roses I chose weren’t $5, and the price wasn’t listed anywhere. A bit of a surprise at checkout.
Then came the rose petals. I asked if they had any, and they pulled out a Ziploc bag from the back, which was $15. For a bag of petals? Let’s just say I expected a little more bang for my buck.
Overall, the shop is nice, and the staff makes it a pleasant experience, but word of advice: double-check the prices before you commit. They don’t exactly give you a heads-up, and surprises are better in bouquets, not on...

The ONLY issue I had was NOT THE FAULT of this florists, I ordered this particular arrangement for the vase it was advertised on Teleflora's site in. Working with a floral company in the past I understand things like that are only available as long as the supplies last.
