DXL Big + Tall — Local services in San Diego

My experience at this specific store was poor at best. Upon arrival, there was no greeting or offer of assistance. I browsed through suit pants and jackets for almost 8 - 10mins before finding what I needed (without any acknowledgement from the staff). Then and only after moving over to dress shirts was I acknowledged simply because he didn’t want to deal with the mess of me trying to figure out my shirt size on my own. (So much littering comes from dress shirts) at least that’s what I was told. The excuse for lack of acknowledgement was “You looked like you knew what you were looking for. I was surprised you made it this far.” Anyhow, after trying on the clothes, I went back to find a different size shirt. The 3 employees who were grouped together looked my way and quickly dispersed as I approached. Doing my best not to think much of it I asked for a larger shirt and returned to the dressing room. While in my dressing room, I hear more customers enter the store which is then followed by a kind welcome and the offer of assistance. As perplexing as that was, I continued trying on my clothing. Once things fit how I wanted, I made my way to the checkout. One of the female employees (who hasn’t said a single word to me the entire hour I’d been in the store) looks directly at me then stops assisting another couple to head to the employee’s only room located by the east entrance of the store. We were down in San Diego for a wedding and I was originally planning to rent a suit, but LA traffic of course made that impossible. Thankfully my wife found this place which caters to bigger guys and for the first time in my life I found a shirt that fits without being custom tailored. We walked in at 10am when they opened, Todd immediately greeted us and came over to see what we needed. What a great reception! I haven't ever walked into a business the minute they open their doors to such a warm welcome. Todd listened to our plight and immediately went to work finding the perfect jacket, shirt, and tie that I needed. This guy is great. We were in and out minus pants in less than 20 minutes. The fact that they have an in house tailor is great, but unfortunately we weren't able to get pants and have them done here since the wedding was earlier in the day. I'm a big guy, and I love going to a store where I know I can find my size in almost everything I see. The styles are current, and the clothes fit a larger gentleman well... Not just big, but actually tailored to fit. They have off the rack items, and custom tailored options as well. I am impressed with the quality as well... Excellent name brands that you will recognize. Service is great too... I've never once felt judged or conspicuous for being a person of size. Prices are reasonable for the quality they offer, but it's not a bargain option. My advice is to check them out, and buy quality! You will...
