Ok , went to get a bite to eat at Pesto Italian Kitchen in Mission Valley 10/29/23 For the 1st time and well the place looks nice , parking is close, food was decent , but in my opinion too expensive for what you get- Chicken salad, Chicken Cacciatore mixed in with Spaghetti ,one drink , and Garlic bread that was hard and not much flavor- I asked the cashier for advice being that it was our 1st time there and he wasn’t very helpful or welcoming- Needless to say We won’t ever go back - it was a disappointing experience- especially finding out afterwards that we were charged an inflation charge of 5% on top of the normal tax - quite ridiculous I’d say While I’m here I’d like to recommend a book that came out 2 weeks ago and it’s available on Amazon etc… it’s intriguing and could benefit anyone going thru some hard times in their life - things can get better It’s called “Red-Headed StepChild” - Beyond the Beatings -By: Dr. Jasón Powell

I really like Pesto at the SDSU location but since it's closed, we went to this Mission Valley location. It's really nicely decorated with lots of seating under a covered patio and more seating out front. There are heaters overhead on one side of the patio. You order at the front counter and pay further along the counter towards the end. They will bring your orders directly to your table. Everyone was really nice and friendly. They have a great lunch special menu with different options and they come with a fountain drink too! I ordered their truffle mushroom pizza special at this visit and it was SO delicious. It was a big personal pizza and I had enough for dinner later that day.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Five-Star Gem: Pesto Italian Craft Kitchen Sets the Standard for Italian Dining

Pesto Italian Craft Kitchen delivers an outstanding dining experience that effortlessly combines authentic Italian flavors with modern culinary craftsmanship. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere and the unmistakable aroma of fresh herbs, slow-simmered sauces, and house-baked breads—a promise of the exceptional meal to come.

Service: The service at Pesto is top-tier—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely hospitable. The staff are attentive without being overbearing, and every team member we encountered was eager to share recommendations and insight into the dishes and ingredients. It’s clear that customer experience is a top priority here, and it shows in every interaction.

Cuisine: The food is, quite simply, a celebration of Italian culinary tradition. Each dish is crafted with care and presented with finesse. The ingredients are fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully sourced, with flavors that pay homage to classic Italian cooking while still offering a contemporary flair.

We started with the Burrata Caprese, which was creamy, fresh, and complemented perfectly by heirloom tomatoes and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. The Truffle Parmesan Fries were a luxurious and irresistible touch. For our mains, the Pesto Tagliatelle was a standout—vibrant, aromatic, and perfectly al dente, with the house-made pesto sauce striking an ideal balance of richness and freshness. The Braised Short Rib Ragu over pappardelle was equally exceptional: slow-cooked, tender, and deeply flavorful.

Ambiance: The ambiance at Pesto Italian Craft Kitchen strikes the perfect chord between rustic charm and modern elegance. The lighting is soft and ambient, with tasteful décor that subtly reflects the essence of Italian countryside kitchens. Whether you're dining as a couple, with family, or for a business meal, the space accommodates every occasion with comfort and style.

Wine & Cocktails: The beverage program is as refined as the menu. The wine list features a well-curated selection of Italian and local varietals that pair beautifully with the dishes. Our server’s wine pairing suggestions were spot-on. The craft cocktails are also worth noting—creative, balanced, and beautifully presented.

Desserts: Be sure not to miss the dessert menu. The Tiramisu was a showstopper—light, creamy, and perfectly soaked in espresso. We also tried the Limoncello Cheesecake, which was a refreshing and elegant end to the meal.

Final Thoughts: Pesto Italian Craft Kitchen is a standout in every way. It's rare to find a restaurant where quality, service, ambiance, and value come together so harmoniously. Every dish we tried was not only delicious but thoughtfully created and beautifully executed. This is a place where passion for food and hospitality is evident in every bite and every detail.

Whether you're a connoisseur of Italian cuisine or simply looking for an unforgettable meal, Pesto delivers an experience you’ll be eager to repeat. Without question, a five-star destination. Highly...

My experience at the Italian restaurant was nothing short of delightful. As soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted by the warm, inviting ambiance characterized by rustic wooden tables, soft lighting, and the mouthwatering aroma of fresh basil and garlic wafting through the air.

The staff was incredibly welcoming, and I was promptly seated at a cozy table near a window, where I could enjoy the bustling street outside. The menu was extensive, offering a range of traditional Italian dishes, from classic pasta to wood-fired pizzas. After much deliberation, I decided to start with bruschetta topped with ripe tomatoes, fresh basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. It was the perfect balance of flavors, with the crunch of the toasted bread complementing the freshness of the toppings.

For my main course, I opted for a creamy fettuccine Alfredo, which was rich and indulgent. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was velvety smooth, with just the right amount of parmesan cheese. I also couldn’t resist trying a slice of their margherita pizza, which had a thin, crispy crust and was topped with fresh mozzarella, sweet tomatoes, and aromatic basil.

To finish off the meal, I treated myself to a classic tiramisu. It was light yet decadent, with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone, dusted with cocoa powder. Each bite was a heavenly experience.

Throughout the evening, the service was attentive without being intrusive, and the overall atmosphere was lively yet relaxed. It felt like a little piece of Italy, and I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and content, already planning my next visit to savor more of their...

A pathetic excuse for a catering business and terrible management. Update your website and internal systems and do right by the customer. By far the most appalling customer service I have ever received. Do not waste your time.

Tried to place a catering order here for an event I was organising remotely. Did not receive any sort of confirmation or receipt, had to follow up with the CEO and I only just received it so it took them about 3 and a half weeks just to provide a receipt.

Called and emailed them multiple times before our event to request a confirmation, arrange cutlery + serving utensils as well as to double check delivery time and address. Got no response to my emails until after our event, no one over the phone could even find my order on their system or provide any sort of clarification so I tried to cancel it 2 days before our shoot - no response.

I entered delivery time in San Diego local time when submitting my request as is always the process with booking catering internationally. Their website must have detected my Australian IP address and interpreted my delivery time in Australian local time. Their website provided no instruction on this.

As a result, food was delivered on the wrong day and wrong time, alternative catering was arranged and I am now 2x over my catering budget.

I'm in a 20 thread email arguing with their CEO who is so rude and unprofessional - they've taken no accountability, placing blame on the customer and refuse to...
