I’ve been a member at HCF for some time (2 years) as I was locked in a contract, but my recent experience has been incredibly disappointing. The gym closed their open gym hours for an entire month without adequate notice or any fair compensation for members who were still charged full price during the closure. This demonstrates a blatant disregard for paying customers.
The open gym hours are constantly treated as an “as needed” service rather than a standard offering. This inconsistency makes it difficult to plan workouts and undermines the value of the membership. A business should not close its advertised hours just because it is "slow".
What’s worse is how frequently classes and gym time are canceled or interrupted due to challenges, which cost extra. Paying members like myself consistently get the short end of the stick during these challenge periods, with reduced access to the gym, and reduced value for the membership fees.
Not all trainers provide the same level of attention and training, either. While some are great, others are lazy and disengaged. It’s frustrating to see such inconsistency in the services being offered, especially for the price being charged.
Initially, I tried to work with HCF to find a fair resolution, but I was met with dismissive and unprofessional responses by Krista, the owner. I was refused any reimbursement or compensation unless I guaranteed I would continue my membership. Meanwhile, it was apparently acceptable for them to close countless times during my time there, offering nothing more than a "sorry for the inconvenience."
HCF seems more focused on cutting costs, running paid challenges, and playing favorites rather than delivering the base services they advertise. They can't even bother to change the filtration system of the water fountain in the 2 years I was there.
As a paying member, I expected accountability, communication, and professionalism. All of which have been lacking.
If you’re considering joining, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. There are plenty of gyms that provide better services, value, and respect for all...
Read moreBeware of their membership onboarding process. I toured this location and had a pleasant tour and interaction with the staff, but as we were discussing membership options, I indicated that I didn't want to commit to a membership until I had a chance to try out a class. I was scheduled to try out the class the next day, prompted to download the app, and went through what I thought was the process to create an account for me (I never signed anything or agreed to contract terms, but provided a code sent to my phone). Not 10 minutes after leaving the premises, I get a phone call asking for my payment information. I delayed providing this, and when I got home, discovered an email from the gym with a membership contract that had been signed on my behalf (remember, I never signed anything on site), timestamped after I had physically left. I sent back in writing that I had not agreed to a membership, and made it clear that I wanted to cancel the contract they had sent me as I had not signed it. I continued to receive overdue notices for a month after this. I called the gym and spoke to the staff member, and while I received an apology, I don't think that excuses signing a contract on my behalf and not making it clear that the code sent to my phone was to allow them to sign the...
Read moreSuper proud to be a member of this gym!! Hardcore Fitness has been life-changing for me, and it's because this gym focuses on comraderie and accountability. It's not like other franchised gyms like 24 Hour or LA Fitness where you guide your own workout. There are different classes to cater to your goals (weightlifting versus HIIT), classes are offered all throughout the day starting from 4:15am til 7pm, and are capped at a limited capacity. You get split into small groups at different stations so you'll be able to get individual attention from the trainers. The trainers are passionate at their craft and will correct your form to avoid injuries. Or if you have an injury they'll give you a modification in order to avoid adding more stress to the injury. If you're looking for a gym to join, consider Hardcore...
