I am not a person to give negative reviews easily unless I have an extremely bitter experience. So yes if I can I would give them negative stars instead of 1. We shop here since the store was established in San Diego. I even worked in the store for 2-3 months and the owner Hiren and employee Deep knows me personally. Never have I ever returned any item to this store not even 50 cents returned. I ordered 3 times as a curb pick up option during this COVID time. First two times I received all the different brands which I will never buy as if they were just selling everything stocked up with them and all the brands which usually are less selling. Anyways, not a big deal for me I understood its difficult time for them and they are doing whatever they could to provide us with things.
Now when we picked up groceries for 3rd time we forgot two bags of 10 lb Jiva organic ATTA in our cart. I usually buy Mantra 24 but since they only had this one I gave them permission to change it. This particular brand JIVA is costlier than Mantra and 2-10 lbs bag cost around ~$30. So we called the store the next day and told them that we forgot the bags in the cart. The person who was on call told us to call in the morning when the manager is around. We called the next morning again the person on the call told us to call in the evening when the manager was around. We again called in the evening and again heard that call in the morning when manager is around. OK in a normal situation I would have just driven down immediately to the store and talk to someone but since we don't want to expose ourselves, again and again, I had no other choice but to call these people. Now, this went on for 2 weeks and it was time for my next grocery shopping so I thought I would just go to the store and talk to whosoever is available. Now the person I am talking to is Deep who knows me and my husband personally and knows that we are not the kind of people who will ask for free stuff. YOU WILL EXPECT THAT THEY WILL SAY SOMETHING LIKE THIS "We know you and you are our very old customer, we will make this exception and we will allow you this one time to pick 2 bags of the same brand but please make sure this doesn't happen next time"
But the response we got " oh our system says there was no missing ATTA on the date you mentioned so we can't help you in any way and pay for the new one" Are you seriously kidding me. My husband and I were furious but we didn't want to make any scene. Again we are not that kind of people who would fight at public place. We just bought the two bags and right away went to another store 5 min drive away from this one name AKSHAR CASH AND CARRY. they had my brand and everything else I needed. I just got my atta from there and went ahead and returned Miramar cash and carry ATTA to them.
I won't be making any further purchases with this store unless it's necessary for my family. I know it won't hurt them to lose one customer but it does hurt me to support such business who will take advantage of you during this crisis. We are really disappointed with the way they treated us after being their customer for almost...
Read moreTen Reasons to Not Shop at Miramar Cash N Carry: We used to often shop for ethnic groceries at the Miramar Cash n Carry store due to the lack of any other option. But now we order online from New Jersey. Better pricing and quality and no shipping fees. The Miramar Cash n Carry's business practices and services are HORRIBLE. They do not believe in customer service or assistance. Here are some examples: (1) one employee refused to put the mask on her nose. Only on her mouth while stocking. (2) Off-the-boat Indian employees who do not understand the American business ways or customers. (3) Never a service with a smile or thank you at the cash register no matter who is at the register including the owner and the manager. (4) They order you to return the cart for them outside as if you work for the cashier. Never say please either. (5) products are stale because they punch every bag with a very tiny needle (the hole will be invisible) to take the air out so that they could stock more on the shelves. (6) Products sold past the expiration date. (7) No return policy. Only exchange within 6 or 7 days and only if they feel like honoring it. (8) Any suggestions from customers will be met with argument putting the customer in defense. (9) They assume that every customer is dishonest or a thief (except an Anglo customer). They even bend the rules for them on return policy. Also, the cashier or employee will say to an Anglo customer, "Sir, I will take your cart outside". We had one of our friends experiment this scenario. (10) Parking is a nightmare.
Overall, the worst business to be a customer at. We suggest you look for online grocery suppliers. You will save money, get better product quality (not stale), and return policy is...

Since March 2020, I observed an extreme price increase in almost every item. And literally, I do not care about the price hike in premium products like cheese or ice cream. But when a price hike in everyday items (for example beans and daal) happens it affects common people.
So, I started investigating the reason behind it. First, I asked the reason for it to the cashier at the checkout counter (I do not want yo reveal his name) The response was it is because of COVID. Every distributors have increased their price. (BTW Spiceland is in house brand of Miramar cash and carry still the price is high)
Being not satisfied with the response I contacted Deep Bhai. The response was it is not because of COVID, but as the government has increased the minimum wedge they had to increase the price of the items.
There is a clear disparity between the response. So, I thought let's check the price at other stores.
I visited Pioneer cash and carry in Artesia and one of the Indian grocery stores in the bay area.
Just for a reference price at Miramar cash and carry for 10lb beans and daal is $16.99 (Photo attached with timestamp)
Price of 10lb beans and daal at Pioneer cash and carry in Artesia is $13.49 (photo attached with timestamp)
Price of 10lb beans and daal at Indian grocery store in the bay area varies from $10.99 to $13.00 (Photo attached with timestamp)
I request you all to ask a question about price increase to the management,
Stay safe and...
