The Exploratorium Store is the place to get all kinds of generic science-related gifts. Mainly stuff for kids, and some of their inventory you can likely find elsewhere online. A lot of the products are only vaguely related to the Exploratorium and what is displayed in it, there wasn't much Exploratorium branded merch or memorabilia outside of a few shirts and buttons. Would love to see more, honestly. The prices can be high, I remember seeing a pin that was not much bigger than a thumbtack going for $13, but it's an expensive museum so it makes sense that their gift shop is also expensive. Other than that, it's fine quality. My little brother really liked the knee-doh ball he got here....

I liked the black sand exhibit at the Exploratorium and asked the sales associate there for some. She was very happy and eager to lead the way to the black sand. They also have a bunch of other cool tacky stuff to buy from a test tube glass tea diffuser to crystal rocks.
A jar of black sand was $9.72 which I thought was a fair...

They sell crystals and rocks which looked really cool and was excited to get a few for my family.
A couple actually broke in half which won't happen to a legitimate crystal or stone, and they were plastic in the center, so they're fakes which is a shame. Fake crystals / stones have no value unless you just want to play with...
