I'm so happy that my fav place's opened again! Even for Tuesday night they were almost booked up: no availability for 2 people after 4.30 pm. Fortunately, I called and the hostess was pretty accommodating and at found a table for us at 5 pm . Their party is amazing- with a lot of tables, breathtaking view over the bay and Embarcadero, and cute hand sanitizers on each tables. Our server ( Marco I believe) provided us with amplified service and the manager, Harry, checked on us couples of times to make sure everything was great ( as usual great). Sufficient to add that they are amazingly accommodating of allergies. We ordered 5 different types of cocktails, 3 appetizers , 1 main course and deserts.
Cocktails Cider House Rules- perfect for ones who have sweet teeth, meanwhile herbal notes makes it taste very balanced, sweet but nothing like dessert cocktail
Port of Spain mescal makes it tastes smoky sour. I recommend to drink it together with sweet foam, which is on a top. Foam will reduce sourness and enhance smoky flavor
The Castro Very refreshing drink with a sophisticated spicy notes I do not like spicy drink/food at all, but I enjoyed it so much. It's garnished with a cute rainbow fruit skewer . "Salt Air" Margarita Definitely Their flagship. I recommend it for people who are Margarita- addicts , for sure it will broaden your horizons on how Margarita can taste..
Appetizers
Salmรณn Ahumado Smoked rich in flavor salmon is placed on the top of cream cheese toast and garnished with truffles. literally , It's melting in the mouth. Especially Perfect for brunch
Croqueets de Pollo Croquetas filled with crusted, chicken and English peas and creamy sauce (very close to Bechamel sauce), When you have a bite, you will understand why I love them- rich , unique flavor! . Absolutely mouthwatering. this dish goes with cured oranges as a palette cleanser. I recommend add extra to your order( originally it served in 3) cause you might fight for the last piece :)
Pulpo a la parilla Wood grilled octopus with boiled potatos in a smoked pimento oil. It's my fav app from the entire menu. Octopus first steamed then grilled which made it taste so soft and juicy. loved the texture of it .I do not remember any place in SF which can make the octopus as delicious as Coquetta
Main. Gaucho Bistec It's a MUST for steak lovers! U can skip all appetizers but u need to try this finger-licking piece of meat! The present the whole ribeye to the table then bring back to the kitchen to slice and season with pepper , salt and cilantro. It's served on a wooden board. I recommend it MR or Medium. Despite the fact it's a Spanish place, not a steak house, their level of cooking rib eye is exceptional great.
Desserts. Manchego Cheese cake . Not sweet Cheesecakes lollipops in a sweat caramel, tasted very balanced . Neither super sweet nor tasteless. a perfect choice for people who are very careful with sweets but decided to make an exception. Believe me,...
ย ย ย Read moreWe loved our experience here at Coqueta. We went on a Sunday for dinner and the parking was surprisingly free (unsure if it was because of Labor Day weekend) and was easy to find. We came in 25 minutes ahead of our reservations and were seated right away. The interior of the restaurant was so nice. The tall ceilings made it feel airy. The big windows also featured a gorgeous view of the bay. Our server, Arturo, greeted us and gave us water and the menus. He was pretty much on top of our orders and checked on us often. The other staff also made sure that we were doing okay. Everyone was friendly and pleasant. We both ordered the Moscow Mule, which was okay. I am not sure if it was because it wasn't in a steel/copper cup or the vodka they used. I will probably try one of their signature cocktails instead, next time. We ordered the patatas bravas, gambas, salmon ahumado, manchego cheese plate and the squid ink paella. They used whole small potatoes for the patatas bravas, which was so good. I have never had it this way before. The gambas was very tasty and was served with bread to soak up the liquid from the shrimp. I wish there were more shrimp on the plate, though, as we only had 3 yummy pieces. The salmon ahumado was also good and the smoked salmon wasn't too salty. The manchego cheese plate came with some flatbread, Spanish almonds, and membrillo (a Spanish fruit paste usually served with manchego). The manchego was chopped into blocks and wasn't too gamey. And of course, our trip to a Spanish restaurant isn't complete without ordering a paella! They request that patrons give them 30 to 40 minutes to make the dish, though it felt like it came in faster than the time promised. The squid ink paella was good enough for 2 people and a little extra. It had plenty of squids and mussels. It wasn't too salty and the rice was perfectly cooked. We were too full for the dessert so we ordered them to-go. The manchego cheesecake was tiny, though we were warned that it came in pops. It was so good though, I think I could have a whole cake of it. The chocolate torte was rich and wasn't too small. Since we ordered it to-go we opted not to get it with the ice cream. It was still great without it. Overall, we were very happy with our dinner there. We want to try the other dishes that we didn't order...

Amazing tapas restaurant with views of the Bay if you sit outside, and inside has its own sexiness. Food has authentic flavors. Presentation was on point. Service was phenomenal! With each visit, this restaurant is getting better.
We booked as a 2 top and ended up a group of 4. Luckily the restaurant was able to accommodate us as it was an early dinner.
Atmosphere was great, modern and intimate, great vibe. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was amazing!!! Where should I start: The mushroom pintxos were moist and tasty. You can never go wrong with cheese at Coquetta. The salmon with truffle honey is always a favorite. Love the dates and goat cheese. Kale salad was big enough to share as an app. Potatoes brava was good. For our main- we shared a paella and two orders of beef. Tender, juicy beef with saffron garnish. Lots of wine to pair with. Clear and articulate descriptions of both food and wine magnified the experience. Thank you Harry and Alma! The staff worked together to care for guests rather than waving your specific server. Bravo !!!!
This is the Coquetta I fell in love with before Covid!
PS- the dessert was a nice touch and much appreciated for the bday boy!! Xoxox
2022 Update
This place has great food and drinks. Service is average in a post covid world. This was the place I would come to solo and not blink twice at the tab. Itโs all about the experience. This was the place I would brag about to colleagues, clients and friends but after back to back disappointments, itโs time to move on. Great location with views of the water and they are dog friendly.
Original post: A-M-A-Z-I-N-G EVERY SINGLE TIME! Pre-covid to present , this place is fantastic. From warm greeting from their host Alma to attentive and personalized service from the wonderful servers to the managers checking in, Harry. Being here at least 7-8 times with and without reservations ( more before covid) the service is stellar! The strong cocktails adorned with edible flowers to the unique wine list. Tapas style; everything is well prepared and flavorful. Cheese, seafood, wine, salads and more, they have it all. Hope to be back soon. Iโve experienced indoor, outdoor to the plastic enclosure and heat lanterns,...
