If your on the boats after 2:30 pm you don’t have much time to explore the island which is rip off in my opinion because you paid full price but only to get to see the prison tour if you don’t want to catch the last boat at 6:30 pm. Came here for a ferry to Alcatraz. There are restrooms here that you can use before the ride across and there are restrooms onboard the ferry as well. The staff was pretty friendly all over. I was supposed to be there 30 minutes before my 12 p.m. ferry ride but I got that a at 11:15 and they offered an earlier ride over for 11:30.
