I originally found Robin Prior Tech Support on NextDoor through direct comments by the community. I chose him because of the multiple and stellar reviews I found on NextDoor. And I am so happy with my choice. What a wonderful experience working with Robin!! I had several really complicated and intractable problems/issues with iTunes for Windows and iPods and the synchronization and desynchronization of various music tracks and Podcasts and simplified the way I am ripping tracks from my CDs to add to my iTunes collection. These issues were on various platforms and devices. His extremely wide knowledge of platforms, networking, hardware, software, really anything computer-related was amazing. I felt supremely confident in his hands. He helped me all the way through the repairs and changes he made and explained everything he was doing so I really learned a lot from him. Excellent communicator. He also guided me in deciding whether to repair or replace my printer and helped me select a new All-in-one Printer/Scanner/Copier and made sure I had the extra cables necessary for the installation and then happily delivered the new printer up my 2 flights of stairs with a smile on his face, at no extra charge!. Read moreI called and had Robin come to my home awhile back to "assist me" with a computer issue. He showed up, initially smelled of alcohol, but he was local and I was desperate for help, so I let him proceed. I let him work on my machine for 2-hours, afterwards he said it was done and that whatever issue I had was rectified. It seemed accurate, so I paid.
Days later the issue returned, and I asked for a follow-up from him as he said he would perform. He refused this, blamed me for the issue, and then hung up the phone. Later, I had another provider come and check his work, and they found a keylogger, that they claim was installed on the day of his arrival.
Conclusion: despite the reviews, this guy is a shady pos and you should avoid at all costs. He's stealing people's information behind their back.

I had an extremely difficult issue with my Outlook/comcast emails, and it took several very long attempts to fix it in conjunction with the Microsoft technical support. Robin was there and committed until it was fixed. He spent many hours on the phone with Microsoft over several days, working into the evening and early in the morning, and in the end he counted the number of emails in each of my folders and made sure that they were all there before he would sign off on the project. He was absolutely amazing. When it came time to charge me, he charged me a flat fee - which amounted to MUCH less that what it would have costed if he had charged me by the hour.
