I am extremely frustrated with my recent experience at the SF Parking North Beach garage. The lack of clarity in their parking ticket policy, combined with poor customer service, has left me feeling both angry and disappointed.
The signs clearly state that the ticket should be kept with you, but this policy should be changed to indicate that it should be left in the car. This setup seems designed to trick people into losing their tickets, forcing them to pay the full price without any prior warning or clear explanation.
During peak parking hours on a weekday (around 3:30 PM), I had to quickly pull over to find a spot as I needed to use the bathroom before continuing my drive. I am not familiar with the area, and after parking, I realized I had misplaced my ticket. I called the number listed on the garage window, hoping for assistance, but the person who answered was incredibly rude. I apologized for the mistake, but before I could explain, the staff member abruptly interrupted me, shaming me for losing the ticket and stating that I would have to pay the full price.
If there is no staff on-site, it would make sense for them to have access to a system where they can verify entry times and charge the correct amount based on that. Unfortunately, the representative did not offer any assistance or show any interest in resolving the issue. It felt as though the garage company was more concerned with penalizing customers than providing service.
I eventually located my ticket after retracing my steps to find a public bathroom. This could have been avoided if the garage had on-site staff or better customer support systems. Needless to say, I quickly paid the correct amount for my $4 parking and left the garage, determined not to return.
Overall, I am extremely dissatisfied with the experience and would not recommend this garage to others. The lack of proper signage, combined with poor customer service, makes this facility a frustrating and unreliable option for parking...
Read moreWell maintained parking garage. The charges are clearly mentioned at the entrance. It around $5 to $7 for an hour. Very affordable if you are in the area to grab a bite or just walk around and do some shopping. The alleyways are wide enough to fit a sedan comfortably. They have elevators and accessible parking is on the first floor and a few spots on higher floors as well. There's a quote written for every parking space like a fortune cookie that bring a smile.
Process: Get a ticket when you enter. When you are about to leave there are 3 machines that accept payment via cash and debit or credit cards. Just insert the ticket and it'll calculate the amount for you to pay. Remember to collect the ticket before you leave this machine. Insert the ticket at the machine...
Read moreEvery time I come to Chinatown, I normally park in this garage. It's either this one or Plymouth Square, but, this one has less traffic to get in/out and is closer/easier to get to the Broadway tunnel which is what I like. The garage is small, so expect to circle around and around until you are up a few floors. The spaces are not too big though, so you might find yourself in a tight squeeze but as long as everyone parks within their lines, it's not a big deal. I usually find a space here, and hardly go all the way up top. They also take Clipper Cards apparently, but I don't have mine setup, so I can't say if it works well. They take cash/credit cards, but you need to talk to the staff. The machine they have there has "never" been active as...
