I have been attending Spazio Italiano with my son since he was 6 months old (he's now 2.5) and we absolutely love it. We attend the toddler class together for now but he will graduate into the drop-off class next year. The 2-hour weekly session includes open play in the well-stocked Spazio playroom, coloring, music time with traditional Italian children's songs and snack time - all while conversing in Italian. I have so loved having the opportunity to practice my Italian and watching my son's skills quickly surpass mine... My children have been attending Spazio since early elementary school years: first in the after-school workshops 2-3 days/week, and now the Academic program. Ilaria and other teachers are amazing with them. I love that the teachers really try to keep the kids fully immersed in Italian during their time there, to make the most of the time with them. Both of my non-native Italian speaking children have made tremendous progress in their comprehension of Italian over the years. Spazio offers a great Italian language program for San Francisco kids. I started my son there when he was 1 y old and now that he is 6, he still goes after school for their cooking and art classes. The owner & instructor Ilaria has been teaching Italian to children for many years and has created classes that are both entertaining and educational.
