My 11 year old son and I had an incredible time here. It was the first time for both of us for doing an escape room, and when I told them that, they went above and beyond to help us have a great time. It was just us 2 since I guess nobody else signed up for our session.
They give you unlimited clues, and the person assigned to our session was incredible at giving us clues at a level that were perfect for my son. It allowed him to feel like he was figuring things out on his own the whole time, which he loved. We did the submarine one because it was listed as one of the easier ones, but we would not have gotten even halfway through without the clues, so use those clues if you're a beginner like us! We finished with around 20 seconds to spare, which was quite the rush for my both of us (although, I am a little suspicious they might have put a few extra minutes on the clock when we weren't looking because I thought we were out of time, but either way, super cool we got to finish it out and actually escape). At the end, they gave each of us a free t-shirt "to make sure we had a good time at our first escape room." As we walked out the door, my son was asking when we could do it again.
The condition of the room and clues was great. Super convenient location near the warf. Their attitudes were very kid friendly and inclusive. Bonus that they're a bit cheaper than other escape rooms I looked into. Could not recommend them more. If we even come back to San Francisco, we will 100% be coming back to try another room. Thank for for an incredible time, The...
Read moreWe visited almost exactly a week ago. (Sorry for the late review!) This place is so cool! I came with my two friends and we played Playground, Prison Break and Gold Rush. My favorite was definitely Gold Rush, I can see why it's listed as great for beginners, because three experts got out with over thirty minutes remaining and no hints! 🤣 But our puzzle prowess wasn't what made it my favorite - the theming and exciting atmosphere were top notch! There were so many unique physical puzzles (not just in Gold Rush, but it had the coolest.) As for the other two, we definitely needed more people in Playground, as there is just an amazing amount of things to do, and you can do so many in tandem! Also in Prison Break we had a classic TEG shared experience! We were in one cell while four strangers were in the other. Working with unknowns made it feel so much more challenging and immersive, and I honestly think we would have had a less fun game if it was just us three. The game guides were super nice and helpful, and for the game we needed clues in, the clues didn't just give us the answer. After our last game, we saw the poster about getting a deal on their game show experience, and the front desk person was so nice in arranging it all for us since we didn't know how the deal worked. 10/10, awesome escape room, amazing customer service, I'm going to go get a head injury so I forget all the puzzles and get to...
Read more5 star for the downtown location and 5 star for fisherman's wharf!! This company is so awesome please give it a try! If you want a great challenge but be able to take hints with no penalties this is the place! We bought tickets from our night at the downtown location to use here a couple days later.
We booked The Depths room with the same group of 4. They were short staffed when we arrived so a little longer of a wait, but not too long at all. We used the time to go to the bathroom which is downstairs, down the long hallway to the left. The waiting space is downstairs when you're next up and they have a cute little cutout to take photos in front of. We were lead to our room and we got started after the intro. Super awesome room and we did use I believe 3 hints in total.
This was a bit more challenging as the room is a lot smaller than what we had in Playground so a good tactic is to just investigate on your own. We loved the second part of the room because it was so creative and challenged us to the very end we felt the rush of the timer! Such a blast and the worker we had was so kind and hilarious. They made us feel very welcomed and had fun chatting with them about the different parts and what they saw on camera (struggle was real at times haha)
We bought tickets once again to be used hopefully down at the San Diego location and we can't wait! The adventure to complete all the rooms is so far...
