Honestly, one of the weirdest experiences at a spa ever. I booked a body scrub and prenatal massage. The body scrub was not great, no real pressure on my body, and they had me on my stomach most of the time with no pregnancy pillow/side laying. Halfway through the scrub, I was told to shower. I got in the shower, and the woman came into the room to deal with linens while I was showering. Then, I sat back on the pretty chilly table, and she lightly massaged the rest of my body. My feet weren’t scrubbed at all. Very nice lady, just feels a bit misleading saying “scrub” when it definitely wasn’t scrub worthy.
The massage portion was done by a different woman. I will say, she was conscious of me being pregnant. However, I rubbed my eye one time (probably because my eyes had been closed during the body scrub for most of the time and I have contacts) and she whipped out her hand sanitizer and sprayed my hands. She also explained she got very sick in January and she was somewhat paranoid of getting sick. Very valid, but not necessarily what I’d like to think about (or smell- the hand sanitizer) when I’m trying to relax. When I flipped to my other side, she also sprayed my hands again. Again, very nice person and a pretty decent massage.
Overall, I don’t think it was worth the almost $300 that I spent on it. The scrub wasn’t scrub like, and getting sprayed with hand sanitizer definitely was disruptive and made me feel like I was grossing her out. My sister did get a mani/pedi and said she enjoyed it, so maybe...
Read moreFinding a place that does massage and nails in one building was hard but I definitely recommend this place. It was so relaxing and so clean and while my daughter had a pedicure the other one had a manicure and I had a neck and shoulder massage in an actual massage room on a massage table. There was even a shower in the room which I did not need but the whole experience was very nice. I also had my hands in paraffin wax. The whole experience was great and I highly recommend this place. I will go back again for sure. And for San Francisco on Haight street it was definitely...
Read moreI have been to a lot of nail places that call themselves a spa, and it ends up being your typical, rushing you out the door place. I made an appointment for a deluxe pedicure and manicure at Zen spa and didn't have much expectations. But when I tell ya'll this has been the best experience, from when I walked in and how I was greeted, never rushed. The ambiance is beyond relaxing, I almost fell asleep, the place is clean and the workers actually take their time with you not rush you out. I will 100% be coming back, Zen Day Spa can take all my money for that...
