Very upset. I grew up in SJC, and purchased my wife’s engagement ring and wedding band from Monaco Jewelers in the summer of 2016 when I brought her to visit my hometown.
The side diamonds fell out on our honeymoon, and we were shocked and heartbroken. We visited Monaco on our next trip to California just a few months after we got back, and they replaced the lost diamonds for free.
However, I wish that was the end of the story, but we have returned to Monaco nearly 10 times in the last 4 years to replace literally DOZENS of the tiny side diamonds. Each time, they apologized, telling me they would “waive” the cost of fixing the ring (...thanks I guess?) and that diamonds falling out of rings is very common so don’t worry that this keeps happening.

After flying back and forth from Chicago so many times (luckily I love visiting my fam) I realized it was not worth the headache being forced to go back there to get a free repair, and simply asked for my money back since my wife has never gotten to enjoy the ring for longer than a month or 2 without it falling apart. THEY REFUSED AND CALLED MY CHARACTER INTO QUESTION; they even said I was “blackmailing” them for threatening to write a bad review. The thing is, before asking for a refund, the repair they had just made the week before fell apart and I was missing diamonds again.
All I wanted was a refund to purchase a ring back in Chicago where I wouldn’t have to deal with a LEMON of a ring that needs to be repaired all the time.

After 2 YEARS the owner finally responds and instead of apologizing for closing early, they instead try to slander her and lie about her, making it seem like she expected them to stay open late rather than close at their regular scheduled hours as she had confirmed with them. So, also pictured is the evidence from google of when she was there that day. It clearly shows that she was there from 5:50-5:58 on the Thursday the review was left and that was the first time she was ever there, her mom dropped off the ring. So it is not possible for her to have shown up after hours, and has never been there after business hours. Not only do we highly doubt they went back 2 years on their security footage to check when she got there, but if they do have it I welcome them to post it because it will prove us in the right. Unless they want to argue with Google's timestamps. Not only are they discrediting my wife, but everyone else who has left them a bad review saying they are all "warrantless" and "hired by their competition" instead of trying to repair relationships with customers they are outright lying about them and not being truthful with their other clientele. It is disgraceful to treat your customer base this way. Do yourself a favor and go to Dana Point Jewlers by Hennessy's and save yourself the headache. Read moreI got off of work as quickly as I could and Went in today to take a look at some engagement rings. I arrived 30 minutes before closing because of traffic and got terrible service.
When I arrived half of the jewelry cases were emptied and the only person that looked like she could Help was a lady (didn’t catch her name). I told her that I was looking for an engagement ring and I wanted to just see what options they had.
She literally told me that they are closing already and that they always start packing up at 5:30. I looked down at my watch to make sure I wasn’t crazy and told her that there is still 30 minutes until closing while pointing at my watch.
I was getting ready to potentially spend thousands of dollars with this lady and she was so concerned about shutting Down that she couldn’t help me even look at the options they had.
I guess the most frustrating part is that I needed 10 - 15 minutes max and I would have been out of there way.
