José is the best! Part of my engine shield came off while driving on the freeway, causing it to drag and make loud screeching noises. Since mine was metal not plastic I couldn’t just rip it off and being in a leg brace post ACL and Meniscus surgery I was unable to get underneath the car. I had attempted a couple places before hand, but they said I had to go to the dealer no one else would be able to take it off and tried to help in the meantime by sticking the detached piece underneath something else, but it didn’t work or either and then going to the dealer but it was a Sunday (8/27) so all the mechanics had left and no one else there could help out. Fortunately enough I was able to get to Autozone and José came to the rescue! Instead of just saying to wait for the dealer tomorrow or he couldn’t help he took his time to assist me and said he’d try to get it off. He manually jacked the car up and got underneath my car to be able to take off the entire engine shied. Mind you it was very hot well over 85° and he was in the sun the entire time while having to go from one side to the other manually jacking up the car putting it back getting all of the other clips/screws off. He went above and beyond to help me, could’ve easily stopped when the 1st jack wasn’t able to lift up the car high enough reach the clips but he found a way by getting another one todo the job. If it wasn’t for José I would’ve been stuck in that area over 70miles away from home because it wouldn’t have been safe to drive the car in the condition it was on the freeway. Read moreWe are from out of town and our car battery was dead. I went to AutoZone and was immediately greeted with a smile from an employee named Neil who was helping another customer at the counter. I waited for the next person to help me who was the store manager (I can't remember his name). He was friendly and very helpful. He helped me figure out what battery would be best for the climate where we live. He even came out and looked at our current battery before our purchase. I was concerned about installation and being able to lift the battery. The store manager kindly stated that they would install the battery for me and take out the old one. Neil a customer service rep carefully took out our current battery and then installed our new battery. Neil was fantastic!! He knew what he was doing, he put my mind at ease with his knowledge and expertise of battery installation and gave me advice for future maintenance. A huge 5 stars to AutoZone for their expertise and help today and another huge 5 stars for Neil and his kindness to us today as he installed our new battery. Read moreAbsolutely terrible service by the kid at the counter when I walked in. I didn’t know what size windshield wiper my Mazda 3 was so I walked up and asked him if he could help me. He told me in a really snotty tone “I don’t normally do this but I’ll do it this time. You have to come prepared”. Are you kidding me? What else is he there for? The manager stepped in and helped but the service from that associate was unacceptable. I wish I caught his name but I didn’t. All I remember was he had glasses and was about 20. Called afterwards and the manager answered the phone and didn’t understand my frustration. Management needs to have a talk with their associates about being patient with people because a lot of people don’t know anything about cars and go to the auto store to get help!
