My husband and I decided to visit this spa since it was top spa recommended in an online article we found. We took the 80 minute signature couples massage. We were allowed to arrive 45 minutes earlier to experience their sauna, steam room, and use the shower, and you can stay 15 minutes more after your massage. You start with filling out general health information, your massage zone preferences, etc. You get your own locker and the spa host/hostess shows you around, explains how to use showers, sauna, steam room, where to head for your massage, offers drinks. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. Everything smells nicely, there's abundance of towels, and the venue is designed with a lot of thought. There's lots of real wood and marble, it looks simple and chic. Shower has 7 jets that you can control individually, sauna is hot like it should be, steam room was my favorite. It has lights that are blinking like starts at the ceiling, the smell inside it was amazing, reminded me of German chamomile essential oil I have. It was extremely clean, which I'm very picky about. I really wish I could spend more time there before and after my massage. Massage experience was interesting. I've gotten a lot of massages throughout my life and can tell apart therapeutic massage from relaxing one and this one was closer to relaxing. I don't mean to say that it was unprofessional, in fact the ladies who were giving us massage were very professional, confident, and accommodating. I think this massage, however, is meant more like a relaxation and general stress relieve ritual, rather than a way to target actual body problems and solve them. It was well orchestrated - masseuses remembered to keep my back warm when massaging other parts of my body, they went over my wants and needs, let me choose oil scent, amount of pressure I wanted, there was a bit of sound therapy with metal cup too. It was enjoyable. I guess my problem is that I had higher than normal expectations because of the price point - we paid $670 before tip for the massage. It's more than I normally pay for spa in Bay Area, where we live, and because of that I had higher than normal expectations. I have to note that the staff was extremely kind and polite and I did not feel like I was forced to do anything I did not want. We were offered drinks before and after massage and I took mint tea. They served it with a mini jar of honey, it was really pleasing and nice. You can choose between tea, juice, or champagne for drinks and they are included in your service fee of 20% that you're paying on top of massage. I would definitely be returning to this spa if we're ever back to Puerto Rico. I would also like to have a chance to spend more time in their steam room, so I think it might be a good idea to offer it as a separate service for an...

I have been to the Vanderbilt for dinner at Ola twice. Ola’s view of the ocean is stunning, the service impeccable, and the food is so delicious that when a family member ate my leftovers the next day, I needed some time alone to calm down.
This was my first time at the spa and my first time receiving Cranial Sacral therapy.
Jason provided me with excellent instruction regarding what to expect and how to make the most of my session. He opened and closed with sound therapy. About a quarter way through, I was literally lost in serenity. Toward the end, I experienced a profound sense of well being and a surprisingly intuitive hit of my life purpose.
As Jason prepared to provide a space for me in the stillness center just outside the treatment room, he asked if I felt anything unusual. I answered without thinking, “I feel grounded, relaxed, and exactly where I am supposed to be.”
I could not ask for more from the spa amenities or the other staff members. The colors are relaxing. The surfaces are clean. The steam room and the rain shower with seven jets are the best of any resort spa I’ve ever visited. What’s more, the entire staff exude the care and attentiveness that is so appreciated when traveling...
Read moreIf I had to give it a title it would be “A Transformative Spa Experience at The Vanderbilt Spa” My experience began with Damina, who greeted me with joyful energy, like she was excited for me and believed in the shift my mind and body would undergo after leaving the spa. It felt sacred from the start.
Then Jason, my massage therapist, worked his magic. I booked the 80-minute massage, and it felt like three hours of pure bliss. I usually go for 90 minutes or longer and still leave with a few knots in my shoulders, but Jason's techniques were different. I will absolutely be returning and I highly recommend the Spa to everyone.
Amenities and atmosphere: The facilities were exquisite (sauna, steam room, etc.) They offered tea, champagne, yogurt, premium chocolates, a variety of nuts, and other treats during the cool-down.
Bottom line: This experience was truly great, and I can’t...
