I will not recommend this company. Nick, I'm very disappointed with your lack of sensitivity and professionalism. It is easy to blame others and not recognize your errors. You were very kind, and we enjoyed working with you UNTIL what we had to offer as clients stopped working out for you. Then, another version of you was shown. I think it Is understandable for people to have a budget. We expressed what was ours, and you helped us and worked around our needs. When we lost our home, you were kind enough to “save” our table without us asking for it. Then we donated our trees to your company and asked you for a few as they emotionally meant to us. You came to our property and realized they were useless to you. It was too much work. So yes, we found amazing people down here who understand the loss of a lifetime due to a wildfire, and we all worked together as a community. And man, I'm glad that happened cause we wouldn't have gotten that from you. Especially after you attacked our personal opinion of how poorly you managed to problem-solve the situation once we reached out to you to get our table back, and you no longer had it to offer. When we reached out, we were not accusatory over the payment. And we immediately apologized and recognized only $200 was spent as a deposit. What you are not communicating with the rest is how poorly we were treated on that call, so we decided not to want to work with you again. You raised your voice to us, had a dismissive attitude, and had a bullying tone. After that, we sent you emails, one after the other, for a whole month, requesting our refund (for the table we wanted to pay for, that you supposedly held for us and carelessly lost), which you ignored every single one of them. I'm sorry, but I don't think it takes much to respond to an email. And now you act all hurt and defensive and make public part of our loss and sorrow. I have never written a review before, but your attitude is unacceptable. Sorry, but you are not a good person, and you are, to me, unprofessional...
Read moreIf I could give a 10-star review I would. We stumbled across Bay Area Redwood while we were on the hunt for the perfect dining table. Nick and Luis absolutely delivered.
Working with Nick was such a joy - he guided us through the process and kept us in the loop the entire time. I learned so much about the different wood grains and trees in the area, and after going back and forth on slab options, Nick picked out the most spectacular, sustainable, slab for us.
Regarding the table itself, Luis’ craftsmanship is unlike anything I’ve seen, he did such a fabulous job on the actual table finishing. His expertise and customer service were impeccable and he even adjusted the installation of the table legs (also beautiful and unique!) upon delivery to ensure our dining chairs would fit perfectly beneath. It's seriously so so stunning.
This is by far the most lovely piece of furniture we have ever owned or come across - and will be cherished for years to come. Sharing food and space with people we love is so special to us - and to be able to do so over this dining table brings us such joy!
If you want a beautiful, functional, work of art - and you want to do the right thing for our environment - work with Nick, Luis, and Bay Area Redwood. They will make your furniture dreams come true.
Edited to add a photo of the beautiful coffee table we purchased from Bay...
Read moreIf you're looking for quality wood + affordable pricing + great customer service, look no further. Nick's lumberyard is a humble collection of 3 locations, each stacked high with a wide variety of natural, air-dried, live edge slabs. Bay Area Redwood carries a large volume of Redwood in all sizes, shapes and forms - their inventory is constantly growing, and luckily enough, Nick had the perfect slab for a Redwood river table project I had in mind. Nick's philosophy driving Bay Area Redwood's entire operation is to give a second life to fallen Redwood trees in the Bay Area. If you're a DIY-er, artisan, or experienced professional, Bay Area Redwood has it all. Nick didn't just sell me a piece of wood - he communicated prior to my trek to his lumberyard, and was kind enough to walk me through the steps required for a successful project. He was generous with his time, and it is obvious that Nick truly wants his customers to be satisfied with the end results of their woodwork. I will be back again for...
